. . . it's time to cut it down and plow it under. That's on the list for today . . . IF things out there dry up enough to do so.Our days of sunshine and dry weather continue to be few and far between. Seems like each day we wake up to:
* Dense fog advisories.
* Rain.
* Humid, wet, damp air. Inside and out.
* No-see-ums that inflict painful bites, then pick you up, toss you around and will kill ya if ya stand still.
* Torrential rains.
* Weather that generally makes you want to crawl back into bed and snooze for maybe four or five more hours.
* Garden plants that are turning yellow for lack of sunshine.
* Slugs that are enjoying a population explosion.
* Misty, drippy rain.
* Peas that should be reveling in this weather but are refusing to grow because of lack of sunshine.
* Construction/remodeling that is going slower than we wish because of wet weather.
But I'll try to curtail my whining and complaining as I know other parts of our country are experiencing REAL weather-related problems that make ours seem like nothing at all.
You don't hear any talk around here of the danger of forest fires these days either. That in itself is worth A LOT!

We've been jettisoned into summer - which is great, but now we've gone from soggy to hot buugy humid arid. "They" say that we are 3 weeks ahead and I believe it. Have you tried crushed egg shell or ashes for slug control?
Hey, Susan - So far (famous last words) the slugs haven't been doing too much damage but I certainly will get out the crushed egg shells and ashes when needed. We have plenty of both!
I feel for you - we've had much of the same here. Massive rain, flooding and storms....and of course the lovely humidity. I am however enjoying the ease at which the weeds are pulling out of the ground. Hang in there!! :D

You've just given me the important reminder to actively be thankful and appreciate ALL the good things in life. You are so, so right. The weeds are coming right out of the ground with hardly any effort!

I can sympathize Mama Pea, we had constant rain last week....although one week isn't horrible. Last year it was the entire month of June. Hope you get some good RAYS soon!
What is with the weather? It seems everywhere is experiencing weather vastly different from their norms. And they say climate change is a hoax...
And a BIG thanks to you and your lovely daughter for thinking of me on my birthday, you definitely made my day! Hubby forgot until he saw everyone else wishing me happy birthday on Facebook, LOL... I got his wishes today. I let him off the hook, however, since I can never remember our anniversary! We got married "over Memorial Day weekend" haha, so I remember the weekend, never the exact date! Thanks again!
