Frugality sometimes fails. And as a result, I'm offering these two holiday table runners as a giveaway. That is assuming anyone wants them. If you don't, I understand as I don't want them either.
A little back story. Two years ago, I wanted a holiday table runner for the top of my coffee table in our living room. I'd been on a serious kick of not buying any new fabric, but rather trying to use up what I had in my stash. My box of Christmas/holiday fabrics was not large, but I used what I had.
Did not like the results, but used the runner during that holiday season anyway.
And then last year, because I wanted to continue my stupidity, I used many of the same fabrics to make one more holiday runner to use in another area. Funny thing, I didn't like that one any better than the first.
A month or so ago, I saw some holiday-ish fabric advertised online on one of my favorite quilting sites . . . and bought it. The results were two table runners that I REALLY LIKE and know I'll use for years to come.
That brings us right back to this giveaway.
These two (smallish) runners seeking a new home are pieced and machine quilted, the backs of them are a simple muslin fabric so they're not reversible.
The smaller one measures 12" x 27" . . .
(The above three pictures all came out a smidge "darker" than the actual fabric. The neutral background pieces don't "stand out" quite as much as shown.)
. . . and the larger is 14-1/2" x 31-1/2". They both go together to one name drawn. If anyone wants to enter this giveaway. If not, they'll be donated to our local second-hand resale store.
Soooo, if you do want to be in the drawing for these, please say so in the comments section of this post.
I'll close down comments around 9 p.m. on this coming Tuesday night (November 21st) and draw a name Wednesday morning.
Yoo-hoo! Anyone out there interested? You could put one under the hamster cage and the other on a high shelf where no one will see it. Just kidding, they're not that bad, I know. They just didn't turn out to be what I was hoping for.

I think my MIL would love these! Can I count my entry as "Christmas gift shopping"???
Michelle - Absolutely!!
Mama Pea, they ARE NOT bad at all! They're lovely and please enter me in the draw if I fit the geographical profile requirements lol!! :) I think they look very homey and cozy and that's what my life is about. :) I love your new avatar! And the new blog post header background!!!
Please add my name to the draw. I think my mother would really like the patterns and I know she would be impressed with your craftsmanship.
Please add my name! I'd love either, great for a side table I need to dress up :) Love your work!!! Nancy
I'd love to have these homemade holiday runners. Shoot, I paid $45 a piece for a couple of runners this year that aren't nearly as homey as these! LOL Tell you what, if my name gets drawn, I'll even send you a box of my homemade soap in return!! Happy Thanksgiving.
Rain - Thank you, my friend, for ALL your complimentary words! If your name is drawn, I'm betting the post office can tell me how much postage to put on the little package to Canada!
StrictlyMystic - I was going to suggest anyone could give them as a gift . . . but thought maybe that was being kinda boastful. I'm honored you would do that. :o)
Nancy - Thanks for being so kind. Your name is entered!
Tired Hobby Farmer - Now you realize that if your name is drawn, everyone is going to think you bribed me! ;o) (I'd love to have some of your soap if it should work out that way.)
I think they are lovely and so add my name to the drawing. I'd love to see your new holiday runners or have you already shown them?
I would love to have those. They are pretty. Linda
They are beautiful. Put me in.
Mama Pea, just let me know where to mail the soap and what fragrance(s) you enjoy and we'll pop some in the mail to ya!
Mama Pea, Please add my name to the drawing. I would love to win these lovely runners.
Oh my gosh--who wouldn't love to be the winner of this draw????
Put my name in the hat as well.
Assuming anyone would want them??? They are beautiful. I want them!
Throw my name into the hat too please! They are LOVELY and my son, who recently moved out, is slowly but surely gathering for his new nest. These would be perfect. :)
Tired Hobby Farmer - What a kind gesture on your part! I'd like to chat with you . . . don't know how to get my info to you without blabbing it all over the blog here. Can you please contact me via my "contact me" button way up at the top of the right hand side bar? I'd love to know more about your soaps!
Sparkless - Thank you! I haven't shown the table runners I made and I do like, but will have to do that in a post soon. Thanks for the reminder.
