Make Sure Brain Is In Gear . . .

. . . before operating heavy machinery.

Or washing machines.

Went to start my third load of laundry this morning,
poured in the homemade liquid laundry soap
my dear daughter
keeps me supplied with.

And then noticed
I had poured the soap right on top
of the last finished load in the washer
which I had failed to remove.

Sigh.

Well, that batch of light colored clothes
will be clean this week!

Oh dear, ha ha! Sounds like something I would do.

Ha ha! I have done that as well not to fear! I once washed a load three times because I kept forgetting that I hadn't taken it out and replaced it with a new load! They were sure clean clothes though!

LOL! Sounds like it's Monday morning. At least you didn't forget the washed load in the washer for a few days only to discover a nasty smelling moldy pile of damp clothes. Ah, that's what had been stinking up the house!

I hate it when that happens! You two should be squeaky clean, though... :)

Krtistina - It was a new one for me . . . not that I've never done ANY unthinking, dumb thing before!

Mama Pea said...

Um, Leah? THREE times? Was this before your morning coffee? ;o)

Mama Pea said...

Sparkless - Ha! I've forgotten a load in the dryer, but never the washer!

Mama Pea said...

Susan - Well, that one load came out squeaky clean anyway!

Oh god, at first I was thinking you were going to tell me the machine died. Glad it was a Mama Pea breakdown instead (not that that is good, either!) I am drowning in appliances that have reached 7 years and are going kerplunk. Do manufacturers PROGRAM that into them? How else would they all know to die at roughly the same time??????????????????????????

Mama Pea said...

Sue - Oh, gosh, no! IF my washing machine had gone kerplunk, I would have been VERY upset as it's just going on its second year! Your appliances shouldn't be kicking the bucket at 7 years . . . true, we do live in a throw-away society, but appliances should last longer than that! Who can afford to replace their appliances that often??

I've done the same thing. More than once.
Speaking of which, I think there are clothes in the washer that needed to go out on the line, like YESTERDAY.
Ugh. If you find any pill or tea to prevent "foggy head", let me know.

That's one of those, 'been there, done that days.

Mama Pea,

Better to be over cleaned than not cleaned at all.
We all have days like this :-)
Hugs,
Sandy

Carolyn - I don't think I was suffering from "foggy head" so much yesterday as "head going in too many directions." 'Course, who's to say it wasn't a foggy head going in too many directions? :o/

Mama Pea said...

Tombstone Livestock - Gosh, I feel so much better knowing I'm not the only one who's done that! (Thought I maybe was.)

Mama Pea said...

Sandy - Ha, I suppose it would have been lots worse to pull a load of unwashed clothes out of the washing machine, dried them and then put them away! (Yuck.)

My mind is always going on 20 different directions, so I do stuff like this all of the time!

Leah said...

Ha! Yes unfortunately it was, I definitely need to remember never to do that again before my morning jolt of caffeine to the brain!

I am so in the same boat of missing short memory! Tend to find myself yelling squirrel a lot!,

Mama Pea said...

The Weekend Homesteader - Boy, if we could just harness that energy our minds use going in those 20 different directions at once . . . is that what a disciplined mind is?? If so, I want one!

Mama Pea said...

M.E. Masterson - Yep, but we're all still functioning. (To one degree or another!) :o)
