Help me. Please.
I'm trying to be big and brave (and sensible) and get rid of items I no longer need nor will ever use again.
Way back in 2001, I made this quilted piece as a winter time wall hanging for my husband's classroom of third graders.
Truth be told, if I had the space in which to hang this colorful piece, I would keep it. But I don't, so it needs to go to a new home.
This quilted wall hanging is big. You can see my husband's hands near the top holding it up for the picture. The measurements are 34-1/2" across and 60-1/2" top to bottom.
If any of you would like to have it, just say so in the comment section. I'll close the entries this coming Wednesday night (January 22nd) and Thursday I'll draw a name from those of you who are interested in this giveaway and send the big frosty guy on to a new home.

That is gorgeous.... Lisa
That is a beautiful quilt wall hanging! I would love to have a chance to display that.
What a handsome fellow! I would love for him to come live with me...
What a wonderful snowman - just perfect for your snow. LOL I'd love to win this as a gift to a friend. thanks for being so generous - I now whoever wins will be thrilled.
I would love to win this. I have the perfect spot for it.
How beautiful--you are so talented...I love all hand made Christmas stuff, so sign me up for a chance ! :)
I have a HUGE snowman collection, given to me over the years by my children. I recently had to clean some of them out when we stopped celebrating Christmas on the pagan holiday of Dec. 25. It's crazy how many snowmen are linked to Christmas :-( Why those two are equated, I'll never know LOL I would love to hang this in the bathroom where the remaining collection resides, if it's not outright Christmassy! You are SO generous and so talented!!
oh I have the perfect spot for him! beautiful work. I've been teaching myself to knit this weekend and hope one day I'll have half your skill with needles. I don't have the patience for quilting.
oooh! I love snowman and that is beautiful!
lisa - Thank you! Your name is in the hat.
Kathy - Thanks! Your name is in for the drawing, too.
Wendy - I always thought he was a good lookin' guy to have around, too!
JoAnn - You're very generous, too, to think of passing Mr. Snowman on as a gift!
Michelle - One would have to have a spot for it because it's bigger than a bread box! Or your usual sized wall hanging! :o]
Akannie - He's not really Christmas themed at all . . . although I know some folks do put out snowman type decorations around Christmas. We always hung him at school as soon as the Christmas decorations came down. The classroom (as well as our house!) always looked so bare and a bit drab after the holidays so I made him to add color and fun to the room.
You are signed up for a chance!
I would love to have it. It's the only snow I will get to see here in Georgia where it is going to be 62 degrees today!
Freedom Acres Farm - The wall hanging is not Christmas-y at all, so don't worry about that. I started a snowman collection years ago but it quickly made more clutter (nice, but clutter none the less!) than I wanted. Like you, I've kept a few favorite pieces and have them out and about the house right now.
Thank you for your kind words. :o]
Lisa at The 'Stead - Oh, you are brave! I think teaching yourself to knit is hard. My grandma, then my MIL, then college room mates helped me learn. Having someone right there sure did help me. I love, love, love quilting but always admit knitting is more relaxing. Good luck with your endeavor!
Okay, Tracy, you're in the drawing!
Dawn from Georgia - If you win the drawing and display him, will your friends think you've gone over the edge? ;o} Or will they shun you thinking you're trying to call snow down upon your pleasant winter weather? Hee-hee.
I could use that in our school library! Just saying :) Nancy
I have a giant bulletin board... Your work is so cute!
I love snowmen. January 22nd. is my birthday!. Alas if I win, I would donate the wall hanging to my daughter's school library.
Nancy - Big bulletin boards are nice to have . . . but sometimes also hard to fill! Your name is entered!
Carol - Happy Birthday a couple of days early! Ha, like Nancy above, another school library offering a home for Mr. Snowman!
Love this quilt, and would love to have it.
What a lovely wall hanging, you did a great job! He would look very nice here in Arizona! :)
Linda - Your name is entered in the drawing! Thanks for joining the group.
Candy C. - But . . . but . . . but wouldn't he melt?! ;o] You're in the drawing! Thanks.
I'd love the snowman to stand tall over my collection of snow people figurines.
I also enjoy your blog!
Dee - He would, indeed, stand tall over the rest of your collection! :o} Thanks for the kind words.
oh he would look so great hanging in my xray room ! pick me, pick me ! I have 3 quilt hangers in my room that I rotate wall quilts through for various seasons/holidays . It cheers up my patients.
Catina Hoak - I'll be it does help your patients! Your name is entered.
Your snowman is adorable! I'm not sure I'd have a place to hang him, just wanted to chime in on his 'handsomeness'.
Lisa - Thanks, Lisa! Attractive and colorful as (I think) he is, a wall hanging that size is not the easiest to find a spot for displaying!
I am sure I am too late - but wanted to say that the snowman is mighty cute. Stay warm from some "cold" Minnesota residents!
I would love this - I am just starting to quilt but love snowmen -- He would be welcomed in NC . Karen
Leah - Thanks! Don't know where you are in our fine state but do know even in the far south part, winter has been showing itself with a vengeance! We're staying warm without much trouble but are sure going through the wood!
Anonymous - Isn't quilting great? Hope you find lots of time for it this winter.
