Pictured above is the load of things I had to take to town with me today.
Nope, not the load I brought home, but that which I took when I left for town.
Took me 'bout ten minutes to load the truck before I left. (Slight exaggeration.) Does anybody else do this?
Just doesn't seem right . . .

I usually forget half the stuff I should take, expecially shopping bags and insulated bag for cold stuff.
I'm used to it. 3 Children in 4 years kinda means diaper bags and "gear" for quite a few years. I'm down to just a huge purse now as the diaper bag has been retired. And too we live so far from everything that when we go, everything has to be taken care of on our trips into town so we always load quite a bit before leaving. So no, I don't think it's backward at all :-)
I take loads like that about 1 x a week out of 5... usually stuff I'm giving away, selling, returning to the library, etc.
That's a lot to carry around town.
That looks like a load of library books I take back every week-LOL!

We got over a foot of snow in the past 2 days.
I think Ma Nature is going to give us a bit more moisture this year--hooray!
Soooo....where does one go that one has to pack for what looks like a week long mountaineering adventure? Or is that your "emergency" stuff to put in your vehicle in case you're snowed in (or out) while going to/from town?
I do that too! Library books to return, recycling to drop off, donations to the Goodwill, ect. ect. When I don't go anywhere for awhile, the stuff that needs to be dropped off piles up ☺
Tombstone Livestock - We don't have to worry about an insulated bag/cooler for the cold stuff most of the year but I'll bet you do! (Matter of fact, in mid-winter we sometimes have to remember to take an insulated bag so the fresh stuff doesn't freeze before we get home!)
Freedom Acres Farm - Three kids in four years! Oh, Mama! That means you were probably carrying two kids at certain points. Oooof. Have you noticed how much easier trips are now?
It's amazing to me how I can have at least 9 different stops to make in town when our town is so small.
Ruth - Yep, it adds up, doesn't it?
Michelle - Fortunately, once I get it into the car I just have to stop at several stops to get rid of it! If I had to schlep it all around town, I'd have to take a wheelbarrow with me, too! ;o)
Sue - More moisture this year? From your lips to Ma Nature's ears! I think the snow is just making sure we have enough mud this spring. Then come summer and gardening, we'll be spending one on one time with the watering hoses!
Carolyn - Nah, the emergency winter stuff is always in each vehicle and stays there until . . . oh, maybe sometime in May!
That pile is all stuff to be dropped off in town . . . eggs, library materials, upholstery samples (those had to go 25 miles down the road), mail, donations, etc.
Kelly - Pile up it does! Sometimes that's what makes me go to town . . . there's such a stack of stuff on the porch we can hardly walk there and I just need to get rid of it!
That looks like my weekend carload. But, heck, when you have a long way to go, you just have to suck it up and load up! I thought I spied some egg cartons in there... Do you find that your reverse trip is just as laden?
Oh yes, we do this all the time. My husband especially since he's a mushroom farmer. There are bins and boxes and bags of stuff that he loads up all the time. Or he just keeps it all in the car. =/ So this looks normal to me! =)
Susan - It depends . . . sometimes I bring home a lot of stuff, and sometimes my errands involve stops like the bank, post office, gas station, etc. that don't "show" when I get home.
Aimee - Your hubby is a mushroom farmer? Oh, wish that we lived closer together! Yum.
That looks like my load today, donations, fabric swatches etc. I think once you set down 3 things to take...it breeds! Oh, and I KNOW why it still winter for your area....in the photo it shows a snowman hanging in your window. tsk tsk tsk....cour calling the snow in!
Katidids - Yikes! You may have hit on something. I have my Easter decorations up but also some of my "winter" decorations are still up . . . like that snowman! You mean if I put up the spring decorations, it would be spring? What do I do to get consistently warm enough temperatures so I can plant my garden first of May?? (Ha! That would be the day up here!)
I'm willing to bet there is a lot of "library" in there - my library days are like that even though I have 2 locations near me I can't help myself when I'm in there!
Erin - Don't you just LOVE libraries? I am so hoping that all of our modern technology doesn't signal the demise of libraries as we know them. What a terrible loss that would be.
