After reading my post about root cellaring in our early days up here in Minnesota, my friend and reader Jenyfer commented that it would be wise to "save" such blog posts somewhere besides within my blog on the Internet. This is a wise suggestion coming from a gal who is currently having terrible-awful-horrible-bad problems with her own blog and is very uneasy about the possibility of losing the information she's written there over the years.
A couple of years ago, because I am so NOT versed in the mysterious workings of computers and, therefore, a little nervous about the whole concept, I asked my computer-savvy daughter how I could obtain a hard copy of my blog posts.
This is what she gave me for Christmas that year. It's a lovely, hard-bound book of my blog posts, including all pictures, that she had printed up.
To sit of an evening with this book in hand, and look back over what I wrote in 2008 is so much more satisfying than scrolling back through my blog entries on the computer.
Not that my blog posts are anything that will live on into the future as great works of literature, but someday these books will be handed down to my daughter as a record of these particular years in my life.
Dear daughter got me started on the collection of these books of my posts and I plan on keeping them up. I seem to be behind on that little project right now, but within the next couple of months I hope I can get caught up on it.

Another super duper terrific idea from the Pea clan. So, how did she get them to book form? Enlighten, dear bloggy friend. I love the idea!
What a marvelous idea! And how can we - your readers - get our copies????? Surely you do not intend to dangle that carrot in front of our collective noses....
The Commander got me the same thing (my blog of course) for the last two Christmas', great gifts!
Blog-2-Print
What a great idea!
So how did she do it? And how much did it cost? And was it very time consuming?
Hey, All - I'm going to see my daughter later this afternoon . . . if she gets here before we leave at 4 . . . and I'll get some info from her. Or I'll get it as soon as I can. Chai Chai, I don't think she used Blog-2-Print but I could be mistaken on that. At any rate, I'll get back with the information as soon as I can get it. :o)
Interesting! I would love to know too!
Your daughter is so great at picking gifts for the Pea Family. This past Christmas she did the "coupons" and now you tell us about her making books out of your blogs. She is a real keeper!!! And actually on a smaller scale, my daughter is pretty good too. Maybe something about having no extra money gets them thinking deeper and makes them more creative.
I've been wanting to do this for the past couple years. I just made two books on Blog 2 Print after reading your post. It was SUPER easy- they do it all for you. It took, like, 10 minutes. I made them, but didn't order them. I post about 3-4 times a week and my books (each about a year's worth) were ~$150 for the colored version, $50 for the black and white and $8 to download. It's got me thinking, that's for sure:-).
Now that is something I've never thought about. Love the book idea. You have one smart daughter.
Bog-2-Print isn't cheap, reproducing the pictures that most bloggers use make the books very expensive.
After seeing yours last winter I vowed to do the same and that project is on my list of things to do with our tax refund (after paying some debt of course!). It's pretty easy to justify because they truly contain a history of the family!
That is awesome!!!
I'll be listening for how she did it Mama Pea.
That is a great idea:) What a great memento!
In this day of e-books and kindle, it is so nice to have a hard copy book to be able to peruse at you leisure. No electricity needed ;)
Fabulous idea! Must do it myself. Waiting for more info with bated breath!
Those are fantastic! I love that idea, but I too blog frequently and use a lot of pictures, so I wonder if I could do something like that but knock out certain less interesting posts? Once the host server and my site is back up that is (fingers and toes crossed!)
PS - I miss my own blog so much right now I'm going around leaving long comments on everyone else's! LOL
What a great present. Your daughter (my niece) is the best!!!
What a great idea! She's so smart. I'm curious as to how she did it, too. Will be waiting to see.

I love it! A family treasure to be sure. I saw that Blogger had a link to this service awhile back, but never looked into it. Now, if anything ever happens to the internet, you have your homesteading chronicles preserved!
That's pretty cool! I've seen that "blog to book" ad when logging in and would like to do that too.
Okay, everyone, I'm going to go do a post about this on my blog right now (www.swampriverridge.blogspot.com). Give me 15 minutes!
Every year my daughter does a book highlighting her 4 kids. It is a great way to keep a record of what happened when and I love to look through them.
