There! No more unbearable suspense of who gets the cookie cook book I offered in my blog post of last Wednesday. Now you all can go back to the really important things you need to do today.
Thank you all very much for entering your name for the drawing but Jane of
Hard Work Homestead was the name that was drawn from the bunch of them last night. It was such fun to read the varied and interesting stories of how you all met your mates! Jane, I'll either get the book to the post office today or on Monday for sure.
I'm being diligent about finding time here and there to go through the pile of cook books that are in the "To Be Sorted - I Really Don't Need This Many" stack so there will be more offered in the near future. Thanks again, everyone, for participating.

Oh boy oh boy! I guess I know what I will be doing on these cold rainy days from now on. Thank you so much Mama Pea. My Husband will be thrilled. He never met a cookie he didnt like.
Oh darn! Missed out on the cookie cook book. Think I'll change my name to "Cookie" so that Jane's husband will invite me to their house for some that she bakes because I am a cookieaholic like him.
Jane - You're very welcome! Hope you can find some recipes in the book that your hubby will enjoy sampling.
Karen L. - So what is it about cookies for some people? My husband joins your ranks (along with Jane's hubby) in being a cookieaholic. Me? I'm a confessed pieceofpieaholic!
hooray for Jane, great giveaway, suspense was nail biting,it will be just like having the real thing in the kitchen-who else-of coarse momma pea!
yea, happy for Jane! thanks for the giveaway, Mama Pea!
Congratulations to Jane, may her hubby be forever in cookies ... LOL
Yvette
judy - I'm betting Jane will come up with some variations on the cookie recipes that will be even better than the original recipes!
Dmarie - You're very welcome! More books to come . . .
Yvette - Ahhh, a bottomless cookie jar. Wouldn't that be great?
DO YOU OR ANY OF YOUR FOLLOWERS HAVE A RECIPE FOR KUGAN-MY 3RD COUSIN WORKS AT FORT RANSOM [ NORTH DAKOTA ] AS A INTERPRETER AND FORT RANGER WHEN SHE DOESN'T TEACH SCHOOL.
judy - Boy, you've stumped me there. I don't think I've ever hear of "kugan." What kind of a dish is it? Could you mean "kuchen?" It's pronounced "koo-ken" and is a German fruit and cake-like batter dessert.
ill ask her
Just looked up Kugan because I thought it sounded familiar. What I found was a Peach Kugan. Sounds like what Judy might be looking for and it sounds good too! Check this site:

I am from German descent so maybe that is why I thought I knew the word. Anyway, Mama Pea, I like pie well enough too (pieceofpieaholic ... hahaha) but with a cookie you can "grab and go", take it with you easily wherever you are headed. Don't even need a fork. Maybe that is the reason some of us like them more? Don't really know but my favorites are Toll House (made them twice a week when my three kids were young) and what my Mom called her Oatmeal Macaroons. No coconut in them so not sure where the name came from but I could eat them at every meal. Well with all this talk about cookies, I think I need to go get one or two .... or three or four!
Thank you Karen L and I'll send that recipe on to her-I will have to visit your blog ang give you a proper thanks and after that -who know-I'm so forgetful of late can't remember too many blogs-from judy
Karen L. - Well, I'll be darned! The recipe for that kugan is a little different than the kuchen recipes I'm thinking of. They both have fruit in them though. I wonder if kuchen and/or kugan means fruit in some language?
Judy, Don't have a blog but I did read your "thanks" on Mama Pea's. You are welcome. It was fun to look that up since it kept rolling around in my head like I should know what it is. You might be right, Mama Pea. Those words are pretty similar. Will have to do some linguistic searches. By the way, I made Toll House cookies today. See what you made me do by posting that giveaway? I am on a cookie jag. Now I am going to have to exercise night and day to get rid of those "cookie pounds".
Karen L. - Was talking with a friend yesterday who just came back from a visit with her sister and brother-in-law. She commented that breakfast every morning at her sister's house is . . . cookies! Not sure a sugar laden breakfast like that is the best way to start the day. (Lots less mess than eggs, toast, sausage or bacon though!)
Mama Pea, What if I eat oatmeal cookies with raisins ... would that count as a "good" breakfast? Maybe too much sugar for the AM but thanks for the suggestion.
Karen L. - Oh, yes! Oatmeal and raisins and nuts . . . the cookie police would okay those! My hubby's favorite cookie is Walnut Clusters which are tons of chopped walnuts in a little bit of chocolate dough. He maintains they are very healthy because of all the nuts! Hmmmmm, . . .
