Fun!

Just finished this pair of socks for the 2-year old twins our daughter cares for.

I know, they are twins, and I've made only one pair of socks.  As soon as I'm sure these are a good fit, methinks I will have to get busy and start another pair.

Daughter had asked I make the tops a little longer than usual for wearing with boots this winter.

The twins have never been dressed alike (kinda hard to do when they are a boy and a girl) but frequently share certain items of clothing (especially shoes and boots) so until I get a second pair of socks knit, perhaps they can share these.

These little socks sure do knit up faster than big people socks.  And so much fun to do!

Such beautiful socks - you have so much talent! And nice to get to do a small project that brings that satisfaction of completion more quickly, too.

What adorable socks! And how nice that they are so easy to whip up (relatively speaking, of course)... :)

What a talented lady you are. Those are very nice & I'm sure the kids will love them!

They look fantastic. My older sister has a thing for knitting socks. I have a suspicion that we are all getting a pair of knitted socks from her this year because she told me she has knit over 18 pairs of socks.

Oh my goodness, these socks are so pretty! Those twins are a couple of lucky little ones. I wish I could knit socks, but I'm afraid my knitting skills are very basic. I do make wash cloths.....that's as difficult as it gets. Maybe I should look for a pattern and try my hand at them.

Those are adorable! I would have loved a pair of socks like that when I was little. Lucky twins! -Jenn

2 Tramps - Don't know how much talent is involved (!), but ya gotta love those "small" projects!

Susan - Daughter took them to try on the twins today. Geesh, I hope they fit!!

DFW - Even though just barely two years old, they both put on their own socks and shoes (no laces yet though) so I'm hoping these higher than usual socks don't give them fits!

Sparkless - Over 18 pairs of hand-knitted socks? That lady is a veritable knitting machine!

Laurie - I promise with a little help you could knit socks. The one and only tricky part is learning how to turn the heel. The rest is straight knitting and decreasing. Go for it, girl!

Jenn - I'm not sure if they are old enough to appreciate them over a store-bought pair or not. Maybe the color will appeal to them.

Mollie - I got that particular yarn because I wanted a pair for myself. Good thing I got two skeins so I can still get a "big" pair out of the yarn.

Mama Pea,

What an amazingly beautiful pair of socks, I so wish I was as talented as you.
I'm going to have to learn to knit properly in order to make socks, and a few other things.

Thanks, Sandy. I hope you do pursue knitting. Even though quilting is my most favorite (!), knitting is more relaxing and most projects are so portable and can be done anywhere.

I'm a knitter but haven't even tried socks yet. These look very nice!

Cootie Bug - If you already know how to knit, socks would be no problem for you. Do it! :o)
