Another Project, Another Post

Out of desperation (!) to have something to post every day for the month, I've been forced to tackle some unfinished projects in my quilt room.  (Why is it oh-so-easy to start projects, but not nearly as effortless to finish them?)

I stayed up way past my bedtime last night (past midnight . . . eeep!) to finish this little piece.

This was started many years moons ago when I realized I didn't have a summer-y "welcome" piece to hang inside our enclosed porch by the door leading into the house.

I had actually completely forgotten about it until sometime this winter when I was going through a box (okay, a big box) of UFOs.  I pulled it out then thinking I'd get right on it and have it done waaay before summer months rolled around this year.  (Ah, such lofty expectations!)

But it's done now, and I have a seasonal welcome by the back door . . . and a post for today!

What a wonderful welcome! And what an amazingly clean, orderly and wonderful enclosed porch! Eek! I would hate to show you mine (if I had one....). Looks like there's a bright side to these post-a-day posts -- except, of course, for the late nights.

Wish just one of my porches looked that nice (and clean).

Susan - I've been a bit tired all day today, but wasn't last night when I was finishing up that piece. Now it's 9:15 p.m. and I wish I was already in bed and in dreamland!

Tombstone Livestock - Well, I won't vouch for how clean the porch is but I do try to keep the clatter-trap from accumulating! (Which is NOT easy.)

Lovely! I really like the chicken and the sunflowers in the middle, makes me smile. Such a bright welcome for your guests.

Oh I love it and it is perfect by your door!!! At first I didn't realize how small it was - and that would mean small letters?! It is soooo pretty! You are a fantastic quilter Mama Pea.
PS I've enjoyed your daily posts this month!

Sparkless - Yes, I started with the chicken and sunflowers fabric as the center and built around it as I went. Thanks for the kind words.

Lisa - When I was planning this post in my head, I was thinking of putting in the measurements of the piece . . . but that idea got lost somewhere along the way!

Thank you for being so complimentary!

Kristina - But you do such a good job of posting nearly every single day all the time! (And always interesting to read by the way.)
