A Little Quilting Project

I just put up a short blog post over on my quilting blog. Got an urge this weekend to make a couple more seasonal pot holders for my stash. I had the thought of making ones for the upcoming spring season but it didn't work out quite that way.

Once again, this gives me a great way to try out different old quilt block patterns. One of them I think will find its way into a baby quilt.

Yes! Get in there and get creative :) Funny I was thinking how I needed a break from quilting for a bit after finishing the last one, then I just overheard the random horrible news being dished out on the Today Show in the background and now I just want to flip it off and do another quilt LOL, it's proving to be such a nice escape!

Erin - Unfortunately, the mass media thrives on feeding us nothing but horrible news which keeps most people down and depressed. Avoid it. Life is supposed to be about doing things which make us feel good. A good life? How do you get a good life? By doing things that bring you joy, contentment and happiness. So by quilting, you're not escaping; you're feeding your soul.

What lovely patterns! Yes, we do need to feed our souls more, don't we? I am so glad I do not have a television set, although the radio dishes out plenty of gloom, as does the internet. I love the silence. I'm not quilting, but I finished knitting a hat! I feel better already.

Susan - As much as I love quilting, I don't think you can beat sitting in a cozy chair and knitting. I've solved a lot of problems doing that!
