Above you can see the fronts of the two sets.
These are the reverse sides.
Set #1 is on the top of both pictures. Set #2 is on the bottom.
Set #1 fabric is primarily a plethora of peas with a "kitchen-y" red gingham check.
Set #2 shows the podded peas again along with multi-colored sweet peppers.
The back of Set #1 displays colorful seed packets. Set #2 backing fabric is a hillside farm scene with lots of happy moo-cows grazing on green grass.

ReplyDeleteAngela - Thank you, thank you. I always start my zinnias waaaay too early. (You'd think I'd learn.) Then they get stunted because they get too big and leggy inside but don't do well outside 'cause it's not warm enough yet. (Yeah, you'd think I'd learn.) :o/
DeleteOur house is too cold (especially now that we've run out of firewood!) to successfully start seeds, so I have awhile to wait. But I would love set #2 – the COWS!

DeleteCan I have both? :) If I had to choose...moo-cows! Funny, when my pugs were alive, they had a cow plush toy whose name was Moo-Cow lol...I can't start any of my gazillion seeds until April! And I'm wondering if I even have enough shelf space for all the seedlings I want to plant! I may have to start them all in the containers in May and bring them in at night until the frosts are all gone.
ReplyDeleteRain - I've never had any luck starting my seedlings in a window with just natural light. I use full-spectrum fluorescent lights rigged over a table -- until last year when we purchased a metal rack unit specifically to use as a seed starting area. The fluorescent lights can be hung underneath each shelf.

Love the fabric for both & would love a set. No seeds started for me this year but I do plan on getting some asparagus crowns in their planters .... hopefully this weekend.

DeleteWe planted our asparagus year before last so this will be the first year we'll (hopefully!) get a good crop.
Set number 2 is awesome.I love my Mama Pea potholders and what great timing as mine now has a burned-up corner (It was my fault this time). I put spinach, chard, peas and lettuce in one of the greenhouse beds but haven't started any to transplant yet.

DeleteIf you are able to post internationally l would love to be included. I am in the middle of England and have sewn, peppers, tomatoes, leeks, sweet peas and chillies. I use a folded tea towel as a pot holder.

DeleteI can't choose between your lovely potholders! I love both sets, but to be fair, I'll choose #1. THANK YOU, you sweet woman! It's butt-ugly, crappy weather here. If it's not raining, we're covered in fog, fog lifts and we get some snow. Ugh, my poor garden needs attention. I shouldn't complain considering what others are having to deal with. Thank you for offering these two beautiful sets of potholders - I'd be honored to own either set.

DeleteLiving in Minnesota, I know what you mean about starting any seed planting. I do enjoy your blog and look forward to each post. I like both of the sets of pot holders but if I had to choose, I would pick the top set. My grandma (long gone to the other side) used to make these for me and I used them until they got too burned or tattered to be safe to use. These made me think of her today. Thank you for the opportunity. Ranee

DeleteNow that we've gotten moved to our little "farm" I hope to unpack and uncover my sewing machine. The pot holders you made are an inspiration. I like set #2. Always partial to moo cows. I've got seeds started indoors. Thought that we'd seen our last frost but more predicted this weekend. Can't wait to get seeds in the ground. Thanks for the contest.
