This is where I spent those quality hours from approximately 1:30 to 3:30 a.m. this morning trying to clear my head enough so I could lie back down in bed and breathe at the same time. My personal goal was to fill the wastebasket to overflowing with used tissues, but as you can see, I failed at that also. Darn.
This where my husband sleeps now. Feel sorry for him. He was cold last night.
This is my kitchen counter. It's safe for you to assume not much food preparation has occurred on this space for the past several days.
This is my desk top where I tried to work this morning. Suffice to say, not a lot of progress was made other than support of the tissue industry.
It's been one full week now since these germies took control of my body. How much longer can it last? (Sure is a good thing I don't catch colds.)
You poor girl! Your nose must be as red as a lobster too! I sure hope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteI AM feeling better this afternoon. (Oh, please, please, please let this be the turn for the better!) I'm even in the process of cooking a decent dinner. Roy just came in from some outside chores and was elated to smell ground beef browning. (I still can't smell anything myself.) He thinks he's died and gone to heaven . . . real food tonight!

If I were there, I'd simmer the onions myself with some butter and olive oil, add in garlic, seaweed, mushrooms and ginger, sprinkle in just a bit of hot pepper, and serve you up some serious Cold-Killer Soup! (I know some folks can't stand the thought of eating seaweed, but it IS one of those great, restorative foods, as generations of maritime families will attest!
ReplyDeleteMaineCelt - Bless you, my child! Seaweed (except dulce) is great for carrying toxins out of the body and I have a couple of varities. Can't say I love it, but use it. My husband's cure for just about any ailment is garlic so I've been throwing it chopped up fresh in all soups. Your recipe sounds really good! When will you be getting here?

ReplyDeleteThanks, Annie, for your kind words. I am feeling better. But a good reminder about not over-doing. Even when you still feel crummy, you feel SO much better than you did that it seems there's no reason to lie around like a slug anymore. I promise I'll watch it. (Hmmm, wonder how long I can stretch this out for??)
