We took a couple of small sledge hammers and bonked the wood in the second tier back (it was starting to look like it was going to make a break for it), restacked the outer and last tier that had fallen out making sure to put the wood as far back as we could, and then put that "safety belt" bracing across the whole thing hoping it would keep the wood from falling out again.
We're keeping our fingers crossed.
P.S. Many thanks to our dear daughter who helped with the restacking. The job went lickety-split with the three of us at it.
Michelle - Now that your strapping teenager isn't working his regular job anymore, he should be able to take care of that in no time. Crack the whip, Mom!
Leigh - Nuthin' like a wood shed full of wood that you know will get you through the winter!
Lynne - The restacking did go very fast. I wanted to put two boards across the front but husband and daughter said the one would do the trick. Let's hope!
Looks great!!! From your photo before..... it did look like some sort of poltergeist got hold of your wood shed. Now you are really ready for winter. :)
Lisa - We're already making plans to put a layer of gravel on the front half (or maybe just front third) of the wood shed ground next time it's empty. Gotta find a way for the wood to lean slightly backwards to prevent this from happening as a regular thing.
I live with my husband on a small homestead in Northern Minnesota. Our daughter currently lives in a small cabin in the woods not too far from us.
Our place is located outside a small town and a two and a half hour's drive from the nearest big city. Trips to the city are infrequent, well-planned, and exhausting!
We currently raise chickens and have hives of honey bees. Raising some of our meat and most of our fruits and vegetables is a priority for us; so, along with our birds for meat and eggs, we have fruit trees, berry patches and a huge vegetable garden.
Quilting is my passion, and I could happily spend each day in my quilt studio if I weren't happily spending each day out in the garden. Good thing we have winters up here; Mother Nature helps keep my life balanced.

Neat as a pin! Ours is still spilled all over the ground....
Woo hoo! What a beautiful photograph!
Seems like you made short work of fixing that wood pile with that great daughter of yours. Such a sweetheart, but you know that already!! Looks great!

Great job.
