Too Pooped To Post -- Almost

It's been a very busy, hot, humid past several days.  Our main push has been the house painting . . . and surviving the summer weather that has finally arrived.  Temps during the day have been well into the 80s coupled with a lot of humidity.  (I can hear many of you saying you'd LOVE to have a high for the day of only the high 80s!)  It wouldn't be making us so grumpy if we were getting our usual cool-down at night, but that hasn't been happening as much as we'd like.  But one or two weeks a season of uncomfortably hot weather is about all we get each year, so I shall stop grousing about it right now.

Bless Painter Guy, his sprayer and no-fear attitude of painting the high up areas for us.  Here Papa Pea is removing the protective coverings over windows on one of the sections that was done earlier today.  The whole job is scheduled to be finished tomorrow!  I can hardly believe it.

That blank spot on the house is where my Virginia Creeper was securely fastened until today when it had to come off the siding in preparation for the last of the painting tomorrow.  The tendrils were already reaching the bathroom window on the left and bedroom window on the right.

We unscrewed the trellis that was fastened to the house, I cut the sets of three strings I always put up on each side of the trellis (fastened to corresponding screws in the siding) for the tendrils to climb on, and we laid the whole thing flat out on the ground.  I have a feeling getting it back up and returned to its happy, creeping position will be much harder than taking it down.

A shot of some of the ladders we've been using retired for the night.  Along with a couple of window boxes and various pots of flowers that needed to be moved from their usual spots.  It just struck me as a tranquil scene after the day we put in today.

We're still trying to make progress on the deck project at the same time as the painting.  We called the lumber yard today to see if our ordered materials were in yet and were informed they were delivered yesterday.  To a location in the county about 20 miles from here.  Ooops.  Then we received a call late this afternoon assuring us the materials would be delivered to our yard tomorrow.  Good plan.

Good work on the house and I LOVE that color! I still secretly snicker when I hear about people who grow Virginia Creeper on purpose; it's a WEED around here and I can't keep it OFF the side of the house no matter how many times I rip it off....and you're trying to put it back ON your house :) Good thing my goats love to much on it.

The new color is lovely. And once the job is done, you'll have years of enjoyment and pride looking at your beautiful home.
I despise summer-the heat and humidity and bugs--blech---BUT---LOVE the green beans and melons and corn and..........................so on and so on.
Stay cool, dear lady

Carolyn - I understand what you mean about Virginia Creeper. I have to try to cultivate Morning Glories, too, when I know they are considered an invasive weed in parts south.

I've failed so far to get an accurate picture of the new green color for the house. In all the pics it looks more teal than it is. The color in real life is a forest green, or maybe evergreen. I'll keep trying to make it look right.

Dawn - I know it was probably confusing, but it came off the grey and will go back up on the new green. At least I hope it will go back up on the new green! :o}

Sue - We woke this morning (hallelujah!) to a drop in temp and a wonderful cooling breeze. We may survive the day without sweating into a puddle!

I am so happy 1) with the new house color and, 2) that the painting is almost done. (Well, except for the trim work, but that feels like nothing after the siding!) Thanks for your kind words.

Mama Pea,

They way were suppose to have a cold front this evening. I would jump for joy however, this cold front means instead of 100 + degrees, it's going to be 92. Not much of a cold front as far as I'm concerned. I'll take it and stop complaining, lol.......
Please send your cooling weather this way!!!

Your house painting will be done before the first of August, and I'm sure your deck will be done not to long after that.

Looking good Girl, um.......when you're done we have a house that needs painting.....care to help???
Teasing, the landlord will be painting it.
Enjoy your day, don't work to hard.
Great pictures!
Hugs,
Sandy

So, what do you and Papa Pea do with your 15 minutes of free time between getting up and falling into bed at night? I, too, love that color. I expect to see amazing biceps by the end of this summer.

Mama Pea,

Looking good. Humid weather is the worst to work in whether it's 80 or 100. You still sweat buckets.

Sandy - Welll, I DO have some experience in house painting . . . ;o}

Our temp took a real dip last night. Very comfortable today. Hope you get some relief from your heat SOON!

Susan - We'll probably still be covered in green paint by the end of this summer! What do we do in our "extra" fifteen minutes a day? Take a shower.

DFW - Isn't that the truth? When the humidity and temperature is so high you sweat, it's miserable no matter what!

The paint job is looking good. I know you'll be glad to have everything back to normal and in it's place.

Looking good! I also have Virginia Creeper on the invasive plant list. I pull it off of everything and am very allergic to it. It's interesting to see it appreciated in other areas!

Laurie - You hit the nail on the head! How good it will be to have everything back to normal and in it's place! I'm not fanatical but I do function so much better when I feel my environment is as it should be. Or maybe I should say as I like it!

hoosier girl - I wasn't aware that Virginia Creeper was an invasive specie until so many of you readers have indicated it is! Where I grew up in Illinois, I don't think we had Virginia Creeper but we had a ground cover called Creeping Charlie that once planted would kill grass and take over wide areas. It's always something, isn't it??!

Some weeks ago my boyfriend broke up with me due to some issues.

I did everything to get him back but nothing worked.

I contacted a relationship doctor i saw online.

I told the relationship doctor everything that happened,

He promised to fix my relationship.

My relationship was restored just as promised,

My Ex-boyfriend is back and promised never to leave me again

I am the happiest lady on earth,

Never too late to fix your broken heart.

You can still get your lover back...

Fix broken relationship/marriage...

Thanks a lot🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
