Cool Spot for a Hot Dog

We're all doing the best we can to make it through these crazy, hot, humid last days of summer we've been having.

Our granddog, Tucker, has found the coolest place in the house and has claimed it as his own comfort zone.  The tile under the wood stove in the kitchen and the cast iron of the stove itself stay cool to the touch even when the rest of the house seems to be roasting, and it didn't take Tucker long to figure that out.

This very hot weather we're having?  Somehow it just doesn't seem right that the bulk of our summer was comprised of cool, fall-like days and now that autumn air really should be here, we're hitting 90° days, one after the other.

Hey!  Who's in charge of the weather these days, huh?

We would like to know about who is in charge of the weather, too! Can we count on you to let us know when you find out? We were nailed with another batch of storms over the weekend. Over 6500 lightning strikes yesterday afternoon, with beating rain and wind. Sadly, one person was killed by lightning when taking cover under a tree.

Your granddog is very cute - and very smart, two of the best attributes for a dog. Won't be long and that wood stove will be hot again!

Please, please, please if you can get anyone to admit to being the weather head honcho let us know, post his email, facebook, twitter, and blog so we can all let him know how we feel. Got to be a he cause Mother Nature is usually nicer to us.

We're having that final blast as well. It's funny that July and 3/4ths of August were cool, and now this. But, I'm not complaining-it was the blast I needed to get the tomatoes to start ripening.
Stay cool!

Tucker is the cutest! We're all just lying around here. It's so humid it feels like you're swimming through the day. I pulled out my zucchini plants out of self defense - one less reason to have to go out and swim through the garden. Hope your fall temps come back soon! And I agree with TL - can we blame Father Nature?

Tucker is one smart pooch. How strange that MN is hotter than FL, in August to boot!

Aww, Tucker is too cute! You have had some seriously wild weather this year. Hope it evens out for you soon. How are you feeling, are you over your "crud"?

My animals live on my tile floors during the summer. We have just learned to step over them.
