Yep, thought I'd better check in before we get this next batch of snow.
Can you believe it? I know most of us in Minnie-soda are having a little difficulty (cough, cough) keeping our sense of humor through these heavy April snows.
Our days have continually been getting above freezing so each day there is a certain amount of melting. Geesh, this is April, fer Pete's sake. We should be having some warm days. (And at this point, any mark on the thermometer above freezing is WARM.)
Our weather forecast for tonight through noon tomorrow is for 4 to 8" of new snow. Okay, we'll be big and brave and handle that (with what dignity we can muster) IF the forecast for the end of the week comes true. Temperatures in the 50s and 60s . . . WA-Hoo! Those would be our warmest temps since last fall and should do a good job of taking care of any snow left hanging around.
If we do get this predicted snow in the next twelve or so hours, I'm certain it will be the last of the season. Yep. Oh, ya. For sure. Uh-huh, that's a definite.
HEAR ME, MOTHER NATURE? TAKE OFF YOUR MUKLUKS AND PUT ON YOUR SPRING CAPEZIOS. IT'S TIME!

Sending you sunshine from Texas :)
Sending mother nature a text now.Reminding her it spring. Hope it helps.
All I can say is, "Ugh!"
And maybe a few swear word for ya.
Oh gawd--you're just PILING ON that poor man's fertilizer. This spring is making it VERY difficult to keep our sense of humor. We had our very first (!!!!) nice day yesterday. I wish I could have shared it with you. I can't believe it's taken this long to get a day of work out in the yard. Sheesh.
(and my back is feeling it this morning!)
Hang in there, dear friend. Warm days are coming. Really.
I sure hope Mother Nature is listening! :)
Oh My GOSH! I saw the weather cast last night and just shook my head.
Instead of the rain dance we were all doing last year...you may need to be doing a sun dance! Pull out those summer shorts..Mother Nature may possible need a reminder
MORE snow?!? Come on down MP...I got some weeds that need pulling and some seeds that need sowing @;)
Oh no! How are you ever going to get a garden in this year? Dare I say it, it will be fall again before you know it - sorry!
Amanda Pope - Thank you! We'd gladly accept it right now to get rid of all the snow and dry things up!
Michelle - We'll take all the "bring on spring" help we can get!
Carolyn - "Goodness, no!" I say with pursed up lips. I would never use bad words to describe this wonky spring weather! (*&^!#%/)
Sue - You actually got out and worked in your yard yesterday? WAAAH! I wanna work in my yard! (I think my mantra for a while is going to be "warm days are coming, warm days are coming." (I'll add a little "Sue said so!" in there, too.)
Stephanie - We must have scared her a little 'cause we got only 2" of snow!
Katidids - Gawd, if I put on my shorts right now . . . 1) Everyone would be scared because of my fish-belly white legs, and 2) I'd probably contract pee-new-monia because of getting a severe chill!
Tami - I would pull weeds all day for you (love to do that) but you can do the seed sowing (not my fave part of gardening). I'd no doubt come home with weather culture shock though after literally inhaling your beautiful spring weather!
DFW - I know it's sad but I was just thinking a couple of days ago that it's about five months until our first frost date. H-E-L-P!
Egads! This is cruel and unusual punishment! It's bad when even weeding sounds like fun. I hope-hope-hope your week ends on a warm note. It's been awfully cold here but at least we don't have the "S" word. We haven't been above freezing (heck, above 29) any morning for weeks! Enough!!!
The kids are like caged animals. They go out when it warms up a bit but the wind and constant snow is deterring them. We got about 4 or 5 inches last night. Glad you didn't get as much. I'm not sure which is worse all this dang snow or the mud that will follow soon. I do know this.... I NEED to get my tators in the ground and soon!!
I am SO glad we didn't get as much snow as was predicted this time. Don't anyone MOVE! I think things are looking up! :) Don't wash your car, don't muck anything out, don't hang laundry, don't look at that garden! Oh, don't put away winter clothes of any kind. In fact, knit a hay, scarf or mittens. Drink some cocoa, play some Christmas music...maybe we'll keep this warming trend warming! ;)
Susan - Sad to say the "S" word is in our forecast for tomorrow. But I decree it's not going to happen. (We'll see how far that gets us!) They are still saying 50s and 60s for end of the week. Should that come to pass, we won't know how to act.
Freedom Acres Farm - Well, ya know, both hubby and I have been feeling really tired the past couple of weeks and I wonder if it's psychological? I mean we are ready for some spring-like weather, we want some spring-like weather, we NEED some spring-like weather and it's just. not. coming!!
Plant your taters a little extra deep and they'll be fine. That is if you can find the ground under the snow. Sigh.
Patty - Do you know I almost DID put on Christmas music during that last storm?
I think everyone is pulling out every superstitious belief possible to stop the snow and bring on warmth!!
The weather up there is insane! We got the boys into a summer camp in McGregor and I sure hope the snow is gone by July LOL!
