Movin', Movin', Movin'

Yup, Chicken Mama is still moving.

Papa Pea and yours truly after we had just finished unloading a truck and trailer into the storage unit.  (Fashion plates of the North, aren't we?)

Baby Pea rode home stretched out in the back of the truck cushioned with packing blankets and foam.  She may or may not have been conscious when this photo was taken.

Gotta remember the words of ol' Elbert Hubbard:

"Home is where the heart is."

And Chicken Mama has been working hard to shift her loyalties to her new home.

Mama Pea,

I think you two look like smart people. All bundled up with warm heads.

Can't wait for the move to finally be over.....and I'M not the one doing the moving!!

Chicken Mama needs a crew to help her move and get it done with. I wish I could bring my crew down to help. The last time we moved I had a 4 month old. My crew, aka family, jumped in and moved all our stuff in their own trucks in a few hours! I remember almost crying from the relief of getting that help. I'm sure Chicken Mama is appreciative of all the help you two are giving her.

I hope this means you are all moved. Everyone can have a break and catch up to themselves then. I will have to catch up with you one of these days again to visit! :)

You look warm that's what counts and better than running around with a pot on your head, you hat looks much more appropriate for cold weather.

DFW - It wasn't even really cold last night . . . only down to the 20s . . . which is balmy for January!

Carolyn - You have NO IDEA how happy I will be when this is all over!!

Sparkless - There have been different groups of friends who have volunteered to help with the move, but it feels a little uncomfortable to "let" them help too much because it's an hour's drive out to her place and half of the drive is on what is now very icy, dangerous roads. You have no idea how much better my stomach will feel when we are done!

FoxyLady - No, not all done. There have been difoogulties (!) that have cropped up this past week that have involved lawyers and things have been a little unbelievable. BUT it WILL be all over within nine days from now and we can all breathe a sigh of (deep) relief!

Yes, yes, yes, as soon as this is all past we must get together. Hopefully, wine will be involved.

Tombstone Livestock - Yup, I've had to give up the pot-on-head for winter. Just not warm enough. Besides that, my headlamp wouldn't fit over the pot. ;o)

Sure wish you and Papa Pea lived near me and could help with my upcoming move OR wish my parents were still around to help. It's much warmer here so you wouldn't have to put so many layers on. You do look so professional in that photo. If I send you my address could you bring the truck and your strong backs? I do feel for all of you as I know just what you are going through right. Guess we just have to focus on the end result so we don't go completely nuts .... as if anyone would notice the change!!!!!

The best part of moving is shutting the door on the last load...

Karen L. - Well, I tell ya, after this horrendous moving job, I think we could qualify as professionals. Have hand truck, will travel!

Nine more days? We will hear the WAHOO all the way down here on day 10, I bet. I just took a look at my winter wardrobe and it looks a lot like yours. Has CM found enough storage space for all her stuff?

I so wish we could help out! I know this is a big rock in the path of her being able to fully look to the future, I can't wait to hear when you can all check this big item off the list!

Know exactly what you're going through - we also moved iat the end of June last year - leaving our home of 18 years. Hang in there - we're all routing for you!

Mama Pea said...

Simply Scaife Family - We. have. been. We're also pooped.

Susan - Enough storage space? Nope. Every load that we take out of SRR, I wonder where the heck she's going to put it. We're all on auto pilot right now and try not to think too much. She only has two more days to get everything out. Those are the only days (next Thursday and next Sunday) she has off from work. They will come, they will go. Then everyone will collapse.

Erin - Yes, it's been a big physical AND emotional undertaking. And I have absolutely no doubt you would be a big help if you didn't live a gajillion miles away! The end is in sight. Hang tight. Don't stop to rest. Just keep movin'. Literally. ;o}

Hi, Dani - Thank you for the support. I know it means a lot to Chicken Mama. Us, too. Thanks.
