This sign was in a stack that Chicken Mama was packing for storage during her move. I've always like it and asked if I could "store" it at our house for a while.
I've hung it inside our entry porch next to the door that leads into the house proper.
In case you can't read it easily in the above picture, it says:
There is close to enough snow in the woods now to warrant us using snowshoes to make the hike around our back loop. Only 30% chance of more snow today, but we'll take all we can get!

When I first saw a snowshoe when I was younger, for YEARS I just thought they were a weird tennis racket.
My kids are still looking for their snowshoes, I'm telling them that you have them! :)
Carolyn - Ha! I can see what you mean . . . like some piece of equipment used for playing a sport in South America or somewhere that we aren't familiar with!
Erin - Ya know, when I wrote this post this morning I thought about them. Our temp is up to 20 today and we could have packed them a lunch with some hot chocolate in a thermos, strapped on their snowshoes and sent them off into the woods! Wouldn't they have had a ball? (Except I wouldn't have felt comfortable doing that because of the huge timber wolf we've got hanging around! Just a minor inconvenience to think about. ;o] )
We don't even own snowshoes. We have cross country skis but not snowshoes. The sign colors work very well with your house color. I like CM's sign too.
I thought those were Objects d' Art now that snowmobiles have been invented, LOL. I like the sign .... but since I have no snow ..... I like my frying pan sign, ....."I only have a kitchen 'cause it came with the house".
Handy having cm's stuff stashed. You can re decorate and change it back out after bit. Cute and adds a tough of whimsey...perfect for the entry
The boys miss using theirs...we left them back in NH.
Cute!
Minnesota without snow for snowmobiling - it stinks! Do you have enough up there now for folks to ride the trails? we do not.
Sparkless - Thanks!
In the last few years, for some reason we've been hiking on snowshoes more than skiing. I think it may have something to do with the fact that now you have to buy a "season pass" to ski on any trails off your property, but so far they aren't making you pay for snowshoeing. Grrrr.
Tombstone Livestock - Well, there's no doubt a lot more people like to snowmobile than snowshoe!
I've seen that sign that's on your frying pan before . . . and always get a chuckle out of it!
Katidids - I've got so much of her stuff in my house here now I think she's getting a little scared I'll never give it back. (She might have cause for worry!)
Stephanie - Well, even if the boys had brought theirs with they wouldn't have much opportunity to use them where you are!
Nancy po - Thank you!
Leah - We have just barely enough now and for the first time this winter the snowmobilers are starting to show up. Because there doesn't seem to be any in other parts of the state, I think they're getting desperate!
