Note From The Bad Blogger

'Tis harvest season for the garden and you all know that doesn't leave a lot of hours for much of anything else. Seems I'm either out in the garden harvesting while trying to keep up with late season weeds or doing a little fall planting or, mostly, inside preserving like a crazy woman.

I'm not complaining because with all the wacky things we've all been experiencing with our gardens, I'm very grateful for anything the garden is giving me this year.

I've been managing to sit at the desk long enough to pay bills before they're due and sort the mail into stacks to be dealt with later, but am feeling more than a smidge bit of guilt for my lack of blogging and my inability to answer correspondence in a timely manner. (Yes, I need a flogging with a wet garden weed.)

We got one and 3/10ths of an inch of rain overnight and it's still coming down steadily. I so wish I could share this blessed rainfall with those of you still struggling through drought.

My first thought on this dark, drizzly, cozy morning (mmm, smell that coffee!) was to spend it at the desk in an effort to get caught up on everything that's been getting shoved to the "when I have time" pile. However, my dear husband who knows what I need more than I do (or am able to admit) has threatened to lock me in my quilt room or handcuff me to my recliner with a good book if I don't agree to do it on my own on this fine "inside" day. Yeah, I need a day of rest. Down time. Time out to re-energize and relax.

And that's what I'm going to do today. I may even have a second latte.

Good for you! Glad you're taking a "inside day" Need to take careof you to keep taking care of everything else. Give Papa Pea a smooch on the cheek for enforcing that break. The pile's not going anywhere, make that 2nd latte and burrow yourself into the quilt room.

You simply must try to do better... (says the blogger who is furiously trying to catch up on 35 unread blog posts) LOL! You definitely need to have a few days to catch up on other things, I haven't even looked at the garden in 4 days because I have so much I need to process still on my counter LOL

Enjoy your second latte, I have only had one cup of coffee in the last 2 months, had Iced coffee with leftovers, too hot even at 6 a.m. to have coffee, so it has been ice tea.
Have fun in your quilt room or reading a book, have a good day and enjoy the rain.

Good for you. What a great idea. I am so burned out right now I spend a good part of the day muttering 'I hate this' under me breath as I go about the 10,000 chores a day. I know that soon this will all be a memory and I should not complain. But What a good idea a day off sounds. I might just have to steal that.

Your Papa Pea knows you well so take his advice and enjoy your day. We all need a day of recuperation now and again.

No rest of the wicked here cause my chore list is longer than my arm and quickly growing.

We figured it was something like that - you know what they say about all work and no play! Now get thee to thy quilting room and stay there, young lady! Of course, we'd love to see what thee wroughts in thy quilting room, too.

It's 7:30 PM out here on the eastern side of the country so I am hoping that you had a wonderful day of quilting and/or reading. Papa P is right. You need to have some "me time" in order to stay sane ... or maybe in your case, somewhat sane. hehehe, just kidding! Seriously, you need to take a break from the usual in order to be able to do the usual again. Does that make sense? I have gotten behind in reading the few blogs I normally read regularly. Maybe it's just the time of year??? Just got on that gerbil wheel to try to catch up.

Good for Papa Pea--sometimes they ARE wiser than they look-hahahahah!
Just kidding.
Hope you had a great day.
I'm up to my ears in corn and the grandson. I'm so tired I could cry. But happy. Really really happy!

I figured you were just inside watching Oprah and eating bonbons.

You are anything but a bad blogger...you have a life, and that takes priority over the blog, as it should be :) Glad you are getting a day of rest, you so deserve it!!

I'm not one to complain about bad bloggers, LOL. Sometimes life gets in the way. ;)
