All Is Well, But Busy

The only thing wrong on this here little homestead right now is that the days aren't long enough!

I haven't posted in a few days because I've been spending every minute I can getting the garden in. Finally. I've never been so behind or so late in the work that needs to be done out there. I'm blaming the weather. It was so wonky for so long that things had to be put off . . . and then put off some more.

But now summer seems to have finally arrived, the days are sweat-producing and uncomfortably hot (wanna see my red shoulders?), and we're right back to needing some rain again. I had to water with the hose tonight for the first time to insure the survival of recently planted seeds and the transplanted seedlings that finally went into the ground today.

I haven't been able to keep up with all of your blogs (if only I could convince my body to get by on 3 or 4 hours of sleep a night!), and I miss doing that. But it shouldn't be long now before I feel I have control of the garden and I'll have time to take some pictures and blog more specifically about what's been happening around here. It's probably the busiest time of year, but also very satisfying in being able to very clearly see the results of the labor.

We are having the opposite problem with way too much rain and more rain in the forecast. I can't get out into the garden cause everything is sopping. Hopefully we'll get some sun and dry up some of this wet.
Hope you get some rain so you don't have to lug hoses around.

Mama Pea-
It's so funny, because I posted a similar blog post yesterday. It is a busy time of year! I'm sure it's going to be worth every minute though, and really, isn't it fun?!? :) Hugs from the east end!

Isn't it amazing how much time it takes to just pull weeds & stick plants into the ground?! I was just thinking to myself a bit ago, "wow, wasn't it nice when it was winter & there was nothing to do outside?". And then complain that I wanted to be out doing green things. Never satisfied, am I?

The business will be worth it come winter when you are munching on those yum veggies you grew :)

And I'm desperately trying to read a few blogs here and there myself. But, it's all understandable. I think everyone is very very busy right now. Enjoy the time outside. The winters are long, dear lady.....very very long.
Hugs from the road!

I'm right there with ya Mama Pea! Just almost finished with planting, working on blogging about it, and still have garden structures to build and purchase....yes the days are truly not long enough! But soon it will be time to sit back watch it grow and enjoy summer!

Glad to hear you back to your normal energetic get-things-done self! Now, just try to not work too hard.

Sparkless - We were promised thunderstorms for today but all we got was about six different showers that didn't amount to much at all. So, I lugged the hose to what I managed to get planted between showers today. Hope you dry out soon so you can get in your garden!

Patty - I know! Hasn't our start to the gardening season been . . . weird?? I sure do love being in the garden though . . . even if I am p-double-ooped tonight!

Akannie - Lolling around. Humpf. Right. 'Tis not the season for lolling, you can't fool me!

CR - Yup, I think of winter when I wished I could get more physical exercise outside (without freezing my buns off) and now, if I get any more exercise I may not be able to get out of bed in the morning!

Stephanie - That's what I keep thinking of as I'm bent double planting peas!!

judy - Me, too, Kiddo!

Sharon - I think many of us are in the same boat right now! But once the garden is in, the time crunch will be better for me, I know.

I'm just now catching up on the week's blogs and I actually was glad to see you haven't blogged in a few days since you taking 3 days off is like me taking off 3 weeks so I don't feel bad LOL! You are right, the days are flying by it seems this summer and I'm starting each day behind...!
