No, I haven't finally gone completely off my rocker. True, at this morning's weigh in, once again, the scale told me I'd lost not one single pound this past week. I am, however trying to put a positive spin on it.
The weight may be the same but (or I should say "butt" - pun intended), my jeans continue to look and feel baggier! Can't beat that with a stick.
I guess I must be losing fat and gaining muscle. Yup, that must be it. Me and Arnold. Same muscle mass.
Hubby is feeling a little glum at the moment because he gained three pounds in the past week.
All of this is not without understandable reason. We are both emotional eaters and the past couple of weeks have been rife with emotional stress. Hey, it happens to all of us . . . and hopefully one of these days, we'll learn to handle it in a more mature way rather than trying to eat away our tensions.

You and Arnold, woo hoo! ;)
Geez, I'm the opposite, I have NO appetite during times of emotional stress, but with my metabolism, that makes it even slower...it's hard to remind ourselves sometimes what our body needs in times of stress...hope things are better! And yeah, my scale is staying the same lately....but....I'm down a cup!!! The gals will understand that joy!
:)
Thank goodness for a sense of humor, eh? You can put me solidly (and how) in the camp of emotional eaters. Between S.A.D., the endless winter, this weird inertia that hits when spring is almost here - it's a wonder I am not locked in a dark closet with a barrel of potato chips and a vat of ice cream. Mommy!
Bummers! But wait, one of these times you'll get on and BOOM, pounds gone. I'm an emotional eater, too. Not fun.
Thats what I was thinking, about muscle,I'm glad you didn't gain any weight thats always good. Blessings jane
Sorry, I forgot to say, I love the humor. I seen the title on my blog roll and had to laugh.
Rain - Well, SOME of us gals would feel joy at being down a cup! Unfortunately, that's one place where I notice loss . . . and it only makes me feel the region below my waist looks bigger! (Never satisfied, are we?)
Susan - Hey, I just heard why we're all wallowing in doldrums, eating like horses, and moving slow as turtles --- the moon is currently closer to the earth than in any other period of recorded history and it's doing strange things to us humans. Believe that? Heck, I'll use it as an excuse!
Alla - One of these times I'll get on the scale, it will show (once again) no loss and I'll throw it through the window! Glad I gave you a little chuckle today. It's either that or cry some days! ;o)
Jane2 - Yepper, I can hang in there without any loss as long as my pants are getting looser and I'm not gaining!
As long as your pants are fitting looser it's all good!
I eat more for boredom and emotions and cause I'm hungry....I just plain old eat for any excuse.
Your hubby is still doing fantastic and even if he's up this week he'll get back to his healthy eating soon.
You are the opposite of me - I eat more when I'm happy and nothing when I'm stressed. I did not have a scale handy during most of February but I could tell by my jeans that I'd lost weight. No fear - it's back! :)
Mama Pea-I like the whole moon being closer thing. I'm gonna take it and run with it. I've had friends ask me why they're feeling so lazy and tired, now I'll have a reason and seem so wise. :)
I'm an emotional eater-I eat when I'm feeling secure and happy. I guess it's good that I've put on 20 pounds in the last four years. Stress causes loss of appetite for me.
Keep on keeping on. You're an inspiration.
I hope everything is okay, I don't like thinking of you dealing with emotional stress! IT STRESSES ME OUT, LOL! I'm an emotional eater, too... and I tend to eat more when I'm bored, like when I sit down in the evenings, then get outta my way :)
Sparkless - Thanks for you kind words. Yup, we're both still working towards the goal . . . just slipping off the wagon briefly now and then.
Jen - I WISH I didn't eat when I was stressed. Then at least there would be some good to come out of being upset!!
odiie - You make me laugh! If you start shedding those twenty pounds, we will get worried about you because we'll know you're not happy!
Erin - The emotional stress is getting better. (Which is good, right?) At first I was so upset I was physically sick to my stomach. Now I've progressed to the point where I just wanna punch somebody out. (If you think hard enough, you can probably guess who that "somebody" might be!)
Congrats on not loosing while having roomier pants, that really is good news!
Kelly - Thanks! I think. It's all rather mystifying, isn't it?? ;o)
