Sue, This One's For You!

What did the Goddess of No Willpower do last night when the Oatmeal Bread had cooled enough to slice?

OMG, it was sooo good! I thought I'd died and gone to heaven. It was an out-of-body experience. I had two slices.

Picture of bread and recipe to follow later today.

Disclaimer: No one was hurt in the making of this post as I let my husband have two slices also.

Only TWO slices?? I'd call that some supreme willpower, LOL

LOL! But they were thick slices with lots of butter, right?

Geez, Mama Pea - I'd have had half the loaf gone within seconds! There is a glint in your eye....

Good for you! There's healthy eating and then there's depravity, and letting that oatmeal bread go uneaten would definitely have fallen into the latter camp... :)

Jen - First bread in 6-1/2 weeks. Now the question is: Can I stop??!

Sparkless - Lots of butter, FOR SURE!

Susan - A wild, maniacal glint!!

Fiona - While falling asleep last night I had thoughts of French Toast made with the bread for breakfast today. But I've regained my senses and ate an orange instead. (It was good, but didn't taste anything like French Toast.)

Oh Dear, Woman-----you just made me spit my coffee all over the computer. Thank YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a great laugh I had over this. And let me apologize for making you misbehave. But c'mon-life's tooooo short to miss out on FRESHLY BAKED BREAD.
My husband had to come running in to see what I was laughing so hard about. You are a dear!!

Sue - Gotcha!! :o)

Our daughter stopped in yesterday right before the loaves went into the oven and exclaimed over how lovely they looked. Then this morning when she dropped her dogs off on her way to work (doggie daycare, you know), she made chatty conversation for a couple of minutes and then asked, "Can I have a slice of that bread with some jam?" She doesn't know it yet but I'm planning on sending the remainder of the loaf home with her tonight. The other loaf went to our neighbors this morning.

Jane2 - Ha! It wasn't great willpower when I stuffed two slices into my mouth!

That looks delish, good for you! Anxiously awaiting the recipe -I'll have hubby make it since he is far better with bread than I!

I think we can all agree that since homemade bread is healthier than store-bought, a slice or two is vital to your good health!

Toodie - Thanks for commenting! Doing a blog post with the recipe right after I'm done here.

You want to know the first thought that went through my head when I saw this picture????? Ok, I'll tell you. "Wow, she looks young." Not that I thought you were old or anything, but I really think it's the bread!! Maybe I should make some too???
