And A Lovely Day It Was

Thanks so much to all of you who offered such nice anniversary wishes to us. You be good people! Glad to report our quiet, relaxed celebration of our anniversary yesterday was great. The weather was perfect; sunny with a slight breeze all day. Just cool enough that we wore light jackets whenever we were out and about.

Here's where we spent a couple hours of the day in mid-afternoon. This is a beautiful little lake only about twelve miles from our house. Totally deserted, not a boat to be seen.

Roy relaxing and looking across the lake to the bay where he says we fished once years ago and caught a bunch of sunfish. (I couldn't remember it at all. Memory starting to go, Mama Pea?)

Nothing is as relaxing to me as the sound of water lapping up on shore. I tried reading and ended up nodding off sitting upright in my chair!

We were set up right next to the public access for the lake. As you can see, it has a perfect loading ramp and we vowed to bring our sport boat back here soon for a putter all the way around the lake . . . and maybe even check out that bay where Roy dreamed we caught some fish.

Now that sounded like the perfect day-right down to a little doze and a good book. It's always nice when you can find a little spot and have it all to yourselves.

Mama JJ - Thanks for the wishes. I bet you're enjoying cool fall-like temps in NY along with the lakes! Hope the rest of your vacation is great.

Hi, Sue - We're in a tourist-y area but a week or so before school starts, the territory becomes fairly unpopulated and the locals can once again easily find idyllic little spots like this. And as far as we're concerned, this is THE best time of year weather-wise!
