Blogging was different when I made my first post in mid-2008. I've thoroughly enjoyed it as a way of communication and treasure the many readers with whom I've become friends even though we've never met.
Times change, people change. I often wonder what happened to certain bloggers I knew years ago. I miss them.
All is well here. We'll always be busy on our little homestead. We have plans for the future, but are trying to be sensible(!) about jumping into anything too soon. (Been there, done that.) Some changes are being made first toward creating more balance in life prior to adding anything new. (Wait. Could we be gaining a bit of wisdom?)
All this is to say I will miss all of you who read my words, but it's time for me to discontinue, close down, put to bed A Home Grown Journal.

ReplyDeleteI think I came to your blog from Susan's "e-i-e-i-omg", and now both your blogs will be gone and I will feel an even bigger hole. Bloggers are like penpals to me, and even though I know I could email or even snailmail, I'll miss the blog format and photos. I feel a bit like Charlie Brown....

Yours has been one of my favorite blogs and I always enjoy the interaction in the comments. In fact, you have set the standard and taught me that responding to comments helps bring in readership and fun interaction. I am glad that you have let us know that you are signing off because I also have wondered what happened to beloved Bloggers who simply faded away. I wish you all the best and I hope you will continue to check into my Blog now and then.

This is sad news, but I get it. I hope you'll leave it up, though. It's a great resource, and when people delete their blogs, it seems spammers get ahold of the web address.

I too feel the need to shut mine down too. I look way way back and old posts and read conversations with you and so many bloggers that are no longer here, and learned a lot. Unfortunatley, for me, I have a stalker that keeps hacking my blog, so it's to where I can't even had an email on it, nor share more down to earth happenings here. Like you said too, there is the same ol' same ol' garden stuff going on. I will miss you, but I too, may be joining you rather soon. I just may have the time to write a book after that too.

Thanks for me being able to learn something about another region, another climate etc. I knew this were coming; blogs became fewer and fewer. But it's ok, understandable, things/people change.
