Table Runner Seeking New Home

Once upon a time, I wanted a new spring table runner for the top of our coffee table in the living room in front of the couch.

I made this one but have never once used it.  Why?  Dunno, even though I've kept trying it in different places, it just doesn't float my boat.

It's not large; 33-1/2" long from point to point and 11-1/2" wide.  It was machine pieced and hand quilted.  The backing is muslin.  I made it way back in 2005 so you can understand if I haven't used it by now, it really deserves to go to someone else.

Here I got a better picture that shows the truer colors of the runner than in the two previous pictures.

Anyone interested in entering the drawing for it?  If so, let me know in the comment section of this post.

I'll collect names until I shut down my computer on Sunday night, April 21st, around 9 p.m. and then announce the name drawn on Monday morning and mail it off to the winner next time I make a trip to the post office.

If you're interested, don't by shy.  Even those of you who may be readers but don't usually comment are welcome to join in.

Hello?  Anybody out there??

  9. Don't put my name in the pot for the drawing.... I just wanted to add my 2 cents worth of how beautiful your work is..... and what a lovely table runner you have made. It will be a lucky winner!!

  10. Michelle - I think the fabrics/colors I chose are spring-ish and would coordinate with quite a lot. It's not too bold or busy.

    Barbara W -Thank you!

    Anonymous (Cori)- Your name is in with the others!

    Nancy - Yep, I did make the quilts in our coffee table. Funny thing, I quilted for years and gave everything away as gifts, etc. Then one day I realized it was okay to make and keep quilts, runners, placemats, etc. for myself!

    Anonymous (9:55 p.m.) - Glad you like it!

    Lisa - Aw, thanks, my friend! (Still wondering why I'm not crazy about it.)

  14. I am someone who just doesn't comment, I am very shy.
    Need to step up now because I would love to have this runner on my table.
    I always try to buy handmade items versus stuff from China.
    I really appreciate the time and talent it takes to make something by hand.
    Happy Easter and Spring!

  15. I tell ya, folks, I maybe should just walk away from the computer today. I just lost the replies to your last comments put up here. That's the second time I've lost something on the computer this morning. So frustrating . . . okay, I'll try again. Grumpf.

    Susan - Sounds like a good plan to me!

    Anonymous (Bonnie) - If your name should be drawn, I want to see a picture of the runner on your antique table, okay? ;o}

    Dori Lewis - Such nice words to make my day. Your name is entered.

  16. Elizabeth - Shy or not, please do start commenting. The comments on blog posts mean so much to the bloggers. It's what keeps us posting! I just checked out your profile info and it sounds as though we have a lot in common.

  17. Got another name to throw in the hat via my Contact button. I've added Deborah Conyers to the drawing.

    Deborah, I'm particularly drawn to the "old" quilt blocks, too. That's why I like to make my pot holders since I can try out lots of the old- fashioned, tried-and-true blocks without making a big quilt. :o}

  21. I would love to have that I would cherish it forever I’m hoping you can hear the enthusiasm and dedication from my heart in that statement. However and that is a big however I’m afraid I have to decline because my indoor outdoor cats tend to play hockey with table runners, rugs anything of that nature so I would never subject that lovely item to that kind of treatment and I will sadly pass on your generous offer!

  22. So, is a widowed old crusty bachelor farmer eligible? I try to keep the place 'decent' so add my name if you would! I'll add a lady's touch around here any way I can get it. Cheers from Oakdale Farm.

  23. Yes, please put my name in the draw for the table runner. Those colours would go great in my dining room and I have a small table in there that is just calling for that table runner.

  24. Goatldi - You need to set down some boundaries with your cats! Yeah, I know that's an oxymoron . . . cats/boundaries. But thanks for the nice words.

    Tim B. Inman (alias Crusty Bachelor Farmer) - Well, of course, you're eligible! Your name is in the hat.

    Kelly M. - You are in!

  29. It's lovely and I am definitely a green and yellow person but per usual I am late to the party! But that's okay as it should go to someone who doesn't quilt. So sweet of you to offer it.
