Pictures taken at 6:30 this a.m.
We have an ice/sleet/snow/rain warning until tomorrow morning.
Not sure if you can see him,
but there is a squirrel in the bird feeder.
Wonder how he got in through
the icicles?
He may be planning on staying the day.
Our solar energy guru/guy is scheduled to arrive today to put up scaffolding and install a new part on our solar energy panel. Something tells me that may not happen.
What a lovely day to be home!
Hi Mama Pea :)) Your fire looks so cozy! It's a damp rainy day here and a fire would be so wonderful right now. Squirrels are so sneaky, I wonder if he got in before the icicles formed! :) I guess if it's so icy, you might have to wait on your solar guy.
ReplyDeleteRain - Mr. Squirrel stayed in the feeder for quite a while even with the birds darting back and forth sneaking a seed.
DeleteSolar guy and helper son stopped by for a visit but couldn't do the installation. But he'll be back in the area in a couple of weeks.
Wow! You're up early. That fire and a warm quilt would have tempted me to stay in bed. Wonder if the squirrel has been there all night? He may have gotten trapped in by the freeze. I bet he's scratching his head wondering how the heck he's going to get out.
ReplyDeleteLaurie - He finally ate his fill apparently 'cause after a while I looked and he was gone. Maybe he had a small hammer with him and broke his way out! ;o)
DeleteI thought it was Spring. Guess I was wrong!
ReplyDeleteTemp here in Shakopee is 35 degrees with rain. If I had a lovely fire like yours, I would be sorely tempted to park myself next to it for the rest of the day. Perhaps I packed the long johns away too soon. :)
Vicki - Hubby was looking for warmer clothing he had already put away for the season before he went out to do afternoon chores today! Temp has been dropping all day. Brrrr.
DeleteWell, poop. If we had icicles, I think I'd be weeping in my coffee this morning. Here's hoping it is the LAST hurrah for your winter-that-won't-end...sending warm hugs. :)
ReplyDeleteSusan - Thanks for the warm hugs but we've got another day like this tomorrow. Friday looks like it might be better. I hope, I hope, I hope.
DeleteIts going to be 82 degrees here today in Cleveland Hts Ohio. I will send some sunshine and warmth your way ;-)
ReplyDeleteTheresa Young - Wow, I can't quite imagine 82 degrees. Just came in from closing up the poultry and there a 1/2" of ice covering everything. Ugh.
DeleteWell dim-damn, too bad you can't send your weather here for a couple of days.
ReplyDeleteHere it is dry as a bone because we have lots of strong wind sucking the moisture out of my garden & me. Stay warm & quilt. Sandy
Sandy - Yepper, if we could only average out all our different temps and precipitation over the whole country . . . but that would make things too easy, wouldn't it?
DeleteDoesn't that fire look cozy! But yes, you would probably much prefer sunshine. Spring. Here . There. EVERYWHERE on the thermometer.
ReplyDeleteStay warm, sweet lady
Sue - One more day of this yuck tomorrow and then maybe a "cloudy but no precipitation" day on Friday. Sounds good. Something to look forward to!!
DeleteTime for celebration here because it rained yesterday!
ReplyDeleteVera - Oh, I'm glad you're getting your rain. Yippee for you!
DeleteHi Mama Pea,
ReplyDeleteYep, we too got a bit of that too. More snow that ice. I hear more is coming our way. Lucky us. Hang in there I hear July is quite lovely....
Dianna - Yay! But we've had snow here in July, too . . . :o/
DeleteOh my gosh, your weather is up and down lately. It's 83 degrees here today, and it's very windy.
ReplyDeleteKristina - Eighty-three!! We've got 26 as we speak. Do we live in the same country??
DeleteWell, that's some nasty weather. Did Mr. Squirrel finally get out of his squirrel trap? -Jenn
ReplyDeleteJenn - I watched him for a long while stuffing his little face with sunflower seeds but then went to do what needed to be done. A short time later, I checked and he was gone. None of the icicles facing the house were broken so he must have gone out the other side!
DeleteLove the wood stove. Nothing is cosier than a wood burning stove. No ice here, thank goodness.
ReplyDeleteGlenda - Although there's no doubt heating with wood has a bit of "dirtiness" to it (cleaning out the ashes, bringing in the wood and all), we love the type of warmth it gives and hope to never have to give it up.
DeleteOk, now I don't feel so bad about 52 degrees and raining.
ReplyDeleteFarmer Barb - Glad to be able to make you feel better! ;o)
