The snow "storm" only dropped about 6" of snow on us. But , oh my, what a heavy, wet snow.
We had no sun yesterday and a temp just below 32° so very little melting occurred.
Today looks to be a sunny day so there's the hope for a bit of melting. Maybe. That would be nice. (But a high of only 27° forecast.)
The weather (and view out every window) yesterday threw me into a fit of sorting and cleaning in my quilt room. I attacked three big storage boxes filled with "stuff" that had just been thrown into them. (Who would do a thing like that?) Organizing a messy area always feels good!
Today I'm hoping to be back in there working on putting together the last of the top for a new quilt I'm making for our king-sized bed. It's been in progress for almost a year now (shamey-shamey, Mama Pea), but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel so I'm eager to get it finished.
P.S. I may have been just a bit premature in changing my blog header photo to that lovely spring one. Ya think?
I think the new header pic gives HOPE.
ReplyDeleteI'm watching the flakes come down, but it's not much and so looks like I can start on that stack of books I picked up at the library. Darn--hate when that happens.
HA!
Sue - Love the way you always look on the bright side! Yes, we will have green grass and maybe even sheep grazing soon. (Well, not this year, most likely, for the sheep but raising a couple of lambs for the freezer is definitely on the "Wanna Do" list!
DeleteYou'd darn well better dive into those library books now because you know when spring finally hits, there's not much time for sitting down reading!
I second Sue (and I am a second Sue) that header gives us hope! Who would just throw things in a box? Well...ME. Is your grandog waiting for the squirrel train to come through? :)
ReplyDeleteSecond Sue - No, I think he was totally perplexed thinking that just yesterday he was out rolling in green grass. And now he can't find it. :o/
ReplyDeleteP.S. Tucker doesn't chase squirrels because their legs are longer than his and he doesn't stand a chance of ever getting close to one.
Oh no it was the perfect time. These spring storms don't linger Mama Pea ... At least I hope they don't :-)
ReplyDeletemari - You're right. Snow that falls in December is around for the whole winter. Snow that falls in March or April tends to melt very quickly. Sort of. :o]
DeleteI had to laugh when you said you only got about 6 inches of snow. Talk about differences in climate and such in different areas of the country....that 6 inches would have shut us down! Lol!! Can't wait to see your finished quilt.
ReplyDeleteLaurie - I know and that's what I enjoy so much about following different blogs. Our weather is so different and what we can grow in our gardens (and when!) differs greatly from area to area.
DeleteI have yet more cleaning jobs saved for bad weather days, but I may start one today.
ReplyDeleteKristina - Whenever I want to put off a cleaning job or task that needs to be done inside the house, I can't help but think that in mid-July I'd LOVE to have the time to stay indoors to do it!! So NOW, I remind myself, is the time to get busy and stop putting it off!
DeleteMama Pea,
ReplyDeleteI like your new Spring header!!!! Brrrr......cold temperatures and snow too boot. Our temperatures met yours in the early morning hours today.
Good to hear you're almost done with your new quilt for your bed. Can't wait to see the end results :-)
Sandy - Thanks, it does give us hope!
DeleteI think I jinxed myself talking about getting the quilt done. Haven't been able to work on it since! Maybe today . . . :o)
