Thoughts Going In and Out of My Head Today

Most movies leave me feeling I've wasted my time.

Old-fashioned, good manners need to be brought back.  Quickly.

Plant a vegetable garden, no matter how small.

There are so many wonderful books to read, never plod on through one you're not enjoying.

I'm not tolerant of people who are habitually late.

We all need to voice our positive thoughts and feelings, not just our negative ones.

Admit your mistakes without rationalizing your actions.

I once worked in a factory that manufactured a cream that was "guaranteed" to remove freckles.

Don't waste time in any kind of a relationship with a dishonest person.

When you lend an item, always write down what it was, to whom you lent it, and the date.

My physical surroundings are very important to me.

I can figure out an intricate quilting pattern, but I can't program the TV to record at a future time or date.

Never tell anyone the way they feel is wrong.

Bottling up your true feelings will make you sick.  Always.

No one fails to appreciate a sincere, handwritten, thank you note.

Listen to what your body is telling you; it never lies.

Be polite and conscientious enough to return phone calls.  And answer e-mails.

Try to find something funny in any upsetting situation.

I like what happens inside your head. :-)

Michelle - When we're puttering along on odd jobs, it's kinda interesting to analyze just where our minds go! (On the other hand, it's probably a good thing you don't know EVERYTHING that happens inside my head!) ;o]

Cootie Bug - What a nice thing for you to say. Thanks back at ya!

I'm with you on programming electronics.

I so agree. Especially with the movies wasting our time, writing down what you lent to someone & programming anything electronic!

Great list it could replace the 10 commandments, except the movies sometimes its nice to sit curled up watching a movie and not having to think :-)

Tombstone Livestock - Oh, I am soooo bad on that count. I can't even manage to make sense of the step by step directions. :o(

DFW - Must admit I feel better knowing there are others who have trouble programming electronics that are so much a part of our lives these days! (Misery loves company?)

Dawn - I so agree that it's nice and relaxing to curl up with a mindless that actually entertains movie . . . one that doesn't produce angst or wreak havoc on one's eardrums . . . they're few and far between it seems to me though. :o/

Wow - Excellent list, but that's a lot to have in your head in one day. I'd have a colossal headache, and would be unable to tie my shoes until some of it ran out my ears and spilled onto the floor! And "Yes, Yes, Yes" on setting up the DVR to record! I've got a degree in Physics (hint on the day job) and STILL can't do it. If it's gonna get done, it's gonna take one of the kids to bail out poor, simple ol' Dad and do it.

De and I have pretty much given up on TV - NFL Football excepted - but I have a handful of movies (I suppose at this point I have to grudgingly admit that none of them are what you might call 'current') I do like to watch when things slow down a bit in the winter.

BTW - LOVE the new profile pic!!

My goodness! What a busy mind you have! I have so many of the same thoughts, just so many fewer at a time...plus, you're way ahead of me, as you remembered them all!

That is a great list. I agree with listening to your body and abandoning a book that isn't interesting enough. -Jenn

Good thoughts all!

Mama Pea,

I enjoyed reading all the thoughts going in and out of your head. TV and movies aren't like they were years ago. It's hard to find anything worth watching. No one can be original, they seem to copy one another.....or they turn to that reality crap. As for people borrowing tools/items, yes I agree with you. Make that list, it will help you remember who has the tool you lent out. Usually I will remember who has the tool about the time I need it to do a project and don't have it.

My list was created while returning home Sunday evening in preparation for my trip back down to Texas on Wednesday.

Life is just full of things to do and people to see :-)

Mark - I feel so much better knowing you have trouble setting up the DVR to record, too! We're lucky to have our adult daughter close by who we can call for all things technological (especially the computer) that we can't manage. Don't know what we'd do without her.

Thanks for compliment on the profile pic. It's one of my better looks. ;o}

Susan - Nope, never would have remembered them all if I hadn't been jotting them down for a while! My mind is not that strong.

Thanks, Kristina.

Jenn- I can't believe for how many years I felt it was "wrong" to begin a book and not finish it. Like the Library Police would come and arrest me if I didn't slog on through to the very end.

Thanks, gld!

Sandy - Never a lack of interesting things and people, you're so right about that. We just have to learn to be selective about what we do and people we associate with. Maybe that comes with age?

What a wonderful list of random thoughts. Amazing how many match my own. But---I never thought about the good books/bad books one. How many times I've TRIED to plow through a bad book. No more!! You're so correct, ---there's a world of books out there (and more published every day!!!!). My gosh, I get in to a tizzy when I think of all the good books I'm missing......

Mama Pea said...

Sue - So I have your promise you'll never force yourself to finish a "bad" book again?

So many books, so little time. Sigh.
