Further Reason for my Daughter to Worry About Me

I'm a fan of Abraham-Hicks Publications and subscribe to their "Daily Quote" via e-mail.

This morning I opened the following quote:

"The majority have been programmed
from their past experience to expect physical decline.
And while it is something they don't want,
they are programmed to expect it.
And so, they're going to get what they expect.
It's not that what they expect
is the reality that everyone lives,
but that everyone lives the reality of what they expect."

As I was reading this (all the while patting myself heartily on the back for my excellent job of maintaining my mental and physical highly-elevated state of functioning), I discovered I had put my turtleneck and crewneck sweatshirt both on backwards this morning when I got dressed.

Sigh.

  1. No worries MamaPea, LN is 15 and does it a lot. She blames it on shirts having print on both sides. Whatever excuse works for ya!

    1. Rosezeeta - I wonder if I just put them on inside out tomorrow I could get by wearing them for another day? ;o}

  5. Dressing in the dark?
I have put things in the fridge that certainly don't belong there. I have left things simmering on the stove thinking I shut off burners. And yes.....I have put on clothes backwards as well. I just tell myself I have too much on my mind.
I love the quote and find that to be so true.
    Have a wonderful weekend.
We are having the North American Snowmobile Snowfest nightmare. I'm HIDING in the house......

    1. Sue - Is that anything like . . . DAN-cing in the dark? The sad thing is the bedroom was lit up light and bright when I dressed. Maybe I'm gonna have to start having my coffee before dressing.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one who thinks she's turned off burners . . . but actually hasn't. Eeeep.

Good advice to stay indoors during your Snowmobile Snowfest. Wouldn't want you to get run down by one of the revelers.

  6. What a hoot! I suspect you don't really have too much to worry about until you don't discover it until you take them off at night. And that no one has said anything....

    1. Mark - No offense meant but my dear husband probably wouldn't have noticed if I'd gone that way all day. (You've heard of the absent minded professor??)

  7. That made me laugh. I had a co-worker that wore two different colored pumps to work one day. And, they were different styles but the same heal height. It's all about the distractions.

    1. DFW - At least your co-worker didn't have to walk like she had one foot in the furrow!

I hardly remember dressing so who knows where my mind was at that time! Geesh.

  8. Ha! Well at least you didn't go out and about looking like that. I've gone out with my shirt on inside out and haven't noticed until I've got home.

    1. JoAnn - After I got over the disbelief that I was that out-of-it that I did such a thing, obviously I had to chuckle, too. (I watched very carefully as I got dressed this morning!!)

  12. LOL. Oh Mama Pea, you tickle me sometimes. I have to say that is a great quote and one that I honestly has a lot of truth in it. Being part of the getting older crowd, I can see how my own attitude makes a huge difference. I think the other thing that's worrisome, is that our children's generation seems to be indoctrinated with this as well. My neighbor talks about how he argues with his sister over their mother. Mother is in her 80s, mentally alert, and lives in her own home. Sister wants to put her into an old folks home, "just in case." Neighbor fights her on this and I agree. How devastating to be forced from one's home because of fear of what-ifs. Gives me the chills.

    1. Leigh - I hear 40-year olds, all the time, complaining about this or that ache or pain accompanied by, "But that's what you have to expect when you start to get old." Old??! They're never going to make it to 65 let alone older! Taking care of ourselves, getting enough exercise, eating organic, nutritionally sound diets . . . all that, plus the good attitude, I believe really does make a difference. A BIG difference!

Sounds to me as if your neighbor's sister is thinking more about herself than her mother. How sad.
