Snowman Seeks Relocation

Help me.  Please.

I'm trying to be big and brave (and sensible) and get rid of items I no longer need nor will ever use again.

Way back in 2001, I made this quilted piece as a winter time wall hanging for my husband's classroom of third graders.

Truth be told, if I had the space in which to hang this colorful piece, I would keep it.  But I don't, so it needs to go to a new home.

This quilted wall hanging is big.  You can see my husband's hands near the top holding it up for the picture.  The measurements are 34-1/2" across and 60-1/2" top to bottom.

If any of you would like to have it, just say so in the comment section.  I'll close the entries this coming Wednesday night (January 22nd) and Thursday I'll draw a name from those of you who are interested in this giveaway and send the big frosty guy on to a new home.

Any takers?

    1. Michelle - One would have to have a spot for it because it's bigger than a bread box! Or your usual sized wall hanging! :o]

    1. Akannie - He's not really Christmas themed at all . . . although I know some folks do put out snowman type decorations around Christmas. We always hung him at school as soon as the Christmas decorations came down. The classroom (as well as our house!) always looked so bare and a bit drab after the holidays so I made him to add color and fun to the room.

You are signed up for a chance!

  6. I have a HUGE snowman collection, given to me over the years by my children. I recently had to clean some of them out when we stopped celebrating Christmas on the pagan holiday of Dec. 25. It's crazy how many snowmen are linked to Christmas :-( Why those two are equated, I'll never know LOL I would love to hang this in the bathroom where the remaining collection resides, if it's not outright Christmassy! You are SO generous and so talented!!

    1. Freedom Acres Farm - The wall hanging is not Christmas-y at all, so don't worry about that. I started a snowman collection years ago but it quickly made more clutter (nice, but clutter none the less!) than I wanted. Like you, I've kept a few favorite pieces and have them out and about the house right now.

Thank you for your kind words. :o]

    1. Lisa at The 'Stead - Oh, you are brave! I think teaching yourself to knit is hard. My grandma, then my MIL, then college room mates helped me learn. Having someone right there sure did help me. I love, love, love quilting but always admit knitting is more relaxing. Good luck with your endeavor!

    1. Dawn from Georgia - If you win the drawing and display him, will your friends think you've gone over the edge? ;o} Or will they shun you thinking you're trying to call snow down upon your pleasant winter weather? Hee-hee.
