. . . I'll keep making them 'til the cows come home!
Got this sweet picture of beautiful K holding her new potholders (to replace the well-used, old Halloween ones she's been using for wa-a-a-y too long). A set for Easter, spring and summer.
Thanks for sending the picture, you wonderful, wacky lady! Love you.
Who knew you were supposed to have special potholders for each season and holiday. Those potholders are lovely. But now I have to go get fresh ones for spring or I'll feel out of fashion.
ReplyDeleteThat reminds me of the potholders my husbands mom used to make except her's always burned quickly because she used the wrong type of fabrics for them. We called them "made to burn, potholders". LOL!
DeleteSparkless - That is funny about your MIL's potholders! "Here, use this potholder. It catches fire easily!"
DeleteGood job on the potholders!!!!!
ReplyDeleteTombstone Livestock - Thank you! They are always fun for me to make.
DeleteBeautiful potholders! I love the size.
ReplyDeleteChristina H. - Thank you! They actually look bigger in the picture than they are . . . they're 8" x 8" which seems like a good size to me. Thanks for commenting!
DeleteHow cute, you could sell those on Etsy! Nancy@LittleHomesteadinBoise
ReplyDeleteThanks, Nancy, but I don't think I could charge enough for them to make it worth my time and fabric. :o( I sure do enjoy making them though. I get to try out all kinds of old block patterns that I've maybe never done before.
DeleteNice!
ReplyDeleteKathy - Thank you very much! And thanks for commenting.
DeleteGlad she sent the photo, they are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteErin - I was really happy to see the photo, too. And thanks!
DeleteMe thinks you've started something MP! Better start on the fall and Christmas set now!... How sweet of her to send the photo. The big grin on her face says it all
ReplyDeleteKatidids - This gal has gone through so much that would lay many of the rest of us flat, but she typically has that big grin on her face and has a chirky, upbeat attitude that is amazing. So I'll gladly make her all the potholders she can use!
DeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteStephanie - Thank you!
DeleteI LOVE your potholders! I especially like how each one is different and the color combinations you used are so pretty. She looks really happy!
ReplyDeleteLisa - That's what's so fun about making them . . . the different old-fashioned quilting blocks I use and playing with colorful fabric . . . well, you know how that feels!! ;o}
DeleteNew potholders would definitely make me happy! They are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThe Weekend Homesteader - Why is it that we let our potholders get so gosh-awful looking before we replace them? I guess we just think of them as "work horses" but it's so nice to have pretty things in the kitchen, don't you think? And mine are all washable so if you get some glop on them . . . just throw them in the washing machine!
DeleteI tend to save new potholders just because they're so pretty and fresh looking. Bright oranges, yellows and greens would be fun for summer.
ReplyDeletetpals - No, no, no, don't save them! Get 'em out and use your pretty ones. We all need more color and "pretty" in our everyday lives! You've got the right idea . . . oranges, yellows and greens ARE the colors of summer!
DeleteI have to say that my Official Mama Pea Potholders make me happy every time I use them. Which is almost every day!
ReplyDeleteSusan - Mama Pea was pickled tink to make them for you!
DeleteBeautiful potholders! Love the picture of the happy new owner. You're just always brightening folks days, aren't you?????? What a gem you are. The world needs more people like you!
ReplyDeleteMy sister and I went to a quilt show this past weekend, and I bought a potholder kit with some crazy chicken fabric. I just couldn't pass it up. Maybe tonight I'll get out my trusty Featherweight and sew them up. :)
~~Lori
Lori - I'm blushing at the undeserved compliments! Garsh!
DeleteOkay, Quilting Lady, get busy on those crazy chicken potholders. I wanna see a picture of them!
