I'm one lucky gal! Our dear daughter asked if she could make dinner for us last night as her Valentine's gift to us. Could she?! When (and why) would I ever turn down an offer like that?
Macaroni and cheese is one of my favorite dishes (carbo loader that I am) and hers is to-die-for. Made with whole wheat pasta and a combination of asiago and white cheddar cheese with homemade croutons on top . . . oh, my, scrumpdillyitious! As an extra added bonus, I still have half the casserole in the refrigerator to finish up today. (Hee-hee.)
My hubby surprised me with a sweet little floral arrangement. A miniature cyclamen (had never seen one of those) and a gorgeous violet in an attractive wicker basket. (He may or may not have had assistance in obtaining same from our local floral shop. The thought is definitely there, but shopping for such is not!)
We capped off the evening by watching the latest James Bond flick, Skyfall. Chicken Mama pronounced it the best one starring Daniel Craig yet. Me? Call me a geriatric old fuddy-dud, but I'd still take Sean Connery if he were yet available.
Never heard of a minature cyclamen, gmo,LOL. I too think James Bond should always be Sean Connery.
ReplyDeleteTombstone Livestock - Several years ago I kept a cyclamen alive and healthy for over two years blooming all the while. Hope I can do the same with this little guy.
DeleteI like those cyclamen, but can never keep them alive very long. lol
ReplyDeleteI agree with you and CM..Craig's awesome, but no one..and I mean NO ONE, beats Sean Connery. Ever. lol
Happy Valentine's Day to you and PP...
Akannie - Cyclamen I have luck with. It's violets that I kill almost instantly. This one is so pretty I sure hope I can keep it going for longer than usual!
DeletePretty flowers! Hubby did good!
ReplyDeleteCM's mac and cheese looks delish!!! And leftovers are the best!
Kelly - Yes, he scored big time!
DeleteI had some cold mac and cheese for lunch (love it cold) and then I heated up servings for both Papa Pea and me for dinner tonight. Still tasted pretty darn good!
The best of both worlds! Practical and pretty! And I am definitely on the boat where Sean Connery is concerned. Or wish I was....
ReplyDeleteSusan - What is it about Sean Connery? I've even heard young gals in their 20s get all google-eyed over him! (Do you know he's 83 now?! How can that be?)
DeleteWho needs to go out for a meal when you can have it made for you right at home! I must be old too cause I'd rather Sean Connery than Daniel Craig.
ReplyDeleteSparkless - My daughter thinks I'm out of my ever lovin' mind, but I don't think Daniel Craig is the least bit good looking. (Sorry, Daniel.)
DeleteDitto Sean from me as well. Mac & Cheese is one of my favorites & CM's looks, & sounds delicious!
ReplyDeleteDFW - Well, that settles it. Methinks we have our own little Sean Connery fan club going here!
DeleteI have to agree on 007 :) Glad you had a great time!
ReplyDeleteStephanie - Hope you had a nice Valentine's Day, too, Stephanie!
DeleteHey can you post that mac and cheese recipe, sounds devine!
ReplyDeletenancy - It's my daughter's recipe (I don't have it) but I'll ask her if she cares to share it.
DeleteI would eat all those leftovers myself, I'd have to hide them LOL! Looks delicious!
ReplyDeleteI've seen the previews for "Skyfall" and wondered how it was, as a movie. I also always liked the Sean Connery ones and then, Roger Moore. I love Roger Moore as an actor in the Bond movies and before that in his TV series "The Saint"....that twinkle in his eyes. What was not to like!?
ReplyDeleteI got a gorgeous orchid plant this year. A splotchy sort of magenta and white, very striking flower one. My guy trades off between fancy cyclamens and orchids. So, I always have a number of both blooming around the house. So colorful in the winter time. :)
