Do you have a desire to learn more about cooking vegetarian meals? Or perhaps you'd like to know how to cook flavorful, nutritious meals that your family will enjoy using less meat than you do now. Or are you already a vegetarian household but would like to find some new recipes?
Do I have a good deal for you! (I sound like I'm hawking snake oil from the back of a horse drawn wagon.) I'm offering two books for the price of one entry.
I got these two books written by Linda McCartney (yes, Paul's first wife) in the mid-1990's and found them very informative and made quite a few recipes from them. But now I'm ready to pass them on to one of you.
"Home Cooking" is a soft cover book described as having "quick, easy, and economical vegetarian dishes for today."
There are lots of great photos of the food recipes.
"Linda's Kitchen - Simple and Inspiring Recipes for Meatless Meals," is a hard bound book.
This book also has ample color photographs of the recipes presented. (I really love that in a cook book.)
If you're interested in having both these books, just leave a comment saying so and I'll draw a name from all interested this coming Tuesday night, and post the name of the winner Wednesday morning, November 9th.
Please don't be shy about entering your name for these two books even if you've never commented on my blog before or if you've already received one of the books I'm trying to clear off my stuffed cook book shelves. You're helping me out here, and I'll never pare down my collection if I can't find somebody to share them with!

HI Mama Pea...I've been lurking of late and not commenting much...lol
I would love these! Today I taught a workshop on Harvest Vegetarian Soups, and had a total of 13 in attendance. We eat some meat here at Honeysuckle Hill, but are paring it down more all the time.
Linda McCartney was a beautiful woman, wasn't she?
Count me in! I am going to regift if I win. My oldest daughter is a vegetarian and always wanting new recipes to try. These would make a awesome gift for her.
Well, you know I'm in! Vegetarian I am not, but we cook plenty of meatless meals...especially when the freezer is low on meat...like it is now... :)
Oh, count me in! Not that I need another cookbook but I always need another cookbook. And meatless is always an option here.
Judy
Akannie - I was just thinking of you yesterday!
Good to hear about your class. Another area (cooking with less meat) ripe for education.
Linda had a classic kind of beauty. How different Paul's life would have been had she lived.
Peggy - How nice of you to think of regifting to your daughter. Good mama!
Mama Tea - Ha-ha! You'd have a bunch of meat in your freezer if you'd take care of those extra cluckers!
Judy - So many people (unfortunately) feel "meatless" is synonymous with "lacking." But it doesn't have to be at all, does it?
I WOULD LOVE TO ENTER THIS ONE-AT THE PRICE OF MEAT-I'M AT ODDS WHAT TO COOK LATELY
Oh, mememmememe meeeeee! Can I enter for both? It would mean so much if I could have a book with your handwritten notes! I'd love that.
judy - Ain't that the truth? Even a plain old hamburger-based meal isn't cheap anymore.
Claire - It's a two-fer deal, my dearie-dear. One drawing for both cook books.
You brought a tear welling up in my eye with your comment about wanting a cook book with my scribbles in it. Don't you remember I was the big, bad mommy who enforced all the rules for you and Chicken Mama? (Didn't help a bit with you two little strong-willed twits though, did it!)
Yes, yes, put me in the hat for these book. Even though Paul was my "favorite" Beatle and I was not happy when he married someone other than me, I have always thought Linda was a class act. And you are right Mama Pea, his life would have been so different, better I would say, had she lived longer.
Haha, you may think it didn't help, but you'd be surprised how those lessons come through and stick with a gal. I am so grateful for the people in my childhood that were able to set good examples for me (including you and Papa Pea). So, while I'm still strong-willed, I hate to imagine where I'd be without the influence of people like you in my life!
I'm so glad your cleaning out, I would love to win a cookbook, even if not, I love your blog, thank you
I am always looking for new inspiration for vegetarian meal so please include me in your drawing!
In spite of the fact that Mr. Matthews is eating some meat these days, we still cook vegetarian the majority of the time :)
Karen L. - I'm just as glad Paul didn't marry you. I probably wouldn't have "met" you through blogging if he had! ;o]
Blackberry Brambles - Thank you! Consider yourself entered!
Jen - Aha! Velly intellesting that Mr. Matthews is indulging in a little meat these days!
Leave me out, I have one vegan book and that's enough for this omnivore but the picture made me laugh... I hope she can cook better than she could sing LOL!
Erin - Shall I send you some venison? 'Tis the season, you know.
I think she could sing very well . . . compared to me, I mean! ;o]
