Look at that sunlight coming in your windows and how pretty it looks! Your kitchen sparkles and the bookcase looks fantastic. Great place to keep your fave cookbooks handy.
How wonderful (and full already!). When we were thinking about re-doing our kitchen, a bookshelf at the end of the island was a must! Never got around to it...yet. But when it's time, a bookshelf is definately going in there!
Beautiful! Love the cabinet, love your kitchen, and I REALLY like how much light is coming in. Just beautiful. Hey, you'll have a great Thanksgiving in your new kitchen! ~~Lori
Like Carolyn, I wanted the bookcase at the end of the island. Now I have a house with such a tiny kitchen there is no hope of that. Love the look---You'll get some good use out of that--the kitchen is where the books should be. Love it!!
Well, what the heck! Now I really am envious of your kitchen. One can never have too many bookcases and to have one right in the kitchen .... lovely! By the way MP, do you happen to get the Sunday paper insert of Parade Magazine? As I was reading it last night, I was surely thinking of you. There was an article titled: Oh, My! Pie! It was all about different pies found across the country. Did not see your name there but thought at first it might have been written by you. hehehe
Sparkless - Yup, I wanted the cook books I use most often to be within easy reach!
Carolyn Renee - I hadn't planned for ours but after getting the island installed, I just felt that "something" should go on the end there. I didn't dream there would be room for a bookcase but it fits well!
Lori - Thanks, Lori. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving, too.
Sue - So . . . where do you keep your cook books??
Susan - Ah yes, I am SUCH a vision of beauty . . . not! You're so silly.
Jane - Oh, Jane. I haven't even BEGUN to truly weed them out. Methinks it's gonna be a sit-on-my-butt job for this winter!
Judy - Hey, who knew bookcases went so well at the end of kitchen islands!!?
Karen L. - No! We didn't get the Sunday paper, but sounds like it would have been an interesting article to read!
APG - More cook books, for sure! I have shelves in the kitchen where I can have all my cook books, but being vertically challenged as I am, I wanted a couple of shelves that were a smidge bit handier to put the "often used" ones on.

ReplyDeleteCould there be more perfection in that kitchen? NO! What a vision of beauty - your kitchen, too, hehehe.
ReplyDelete....now I want one at the end of my island!
ReplyDeleteLovely, now since you have been downsizing the cookbooks I would be curious as to which ones made the cut. Which ones are Pea worthy?
ReplyDeleteIt looks lovely! My hubby custom built a bookshelf into one end of our island. I must say I love it!! I hope you like yours as well.

ReplyDeleteI know you have more cookbooks than that hiding out somewhere! What a great place to stash the 'go-to' ones! Lookin' spiffy!

Don't know what I'd do without a shelf for cookbooks in the kitchen :)
ReplyDeleteI shall not covet...I shall not covet....LOL! I adore your new kitchen Mama Pea! :)
ReplyDeleteYou thought of everything! It makes the kitchen look very welcoming having a nice stack of cookbooks to look through.
ReplyDeleteYour kitchen is coming together beautifully!
ReplyDeleteJen - Thinking about it, just where would you keep your cook books if you didn't have a shelf for them in the kitchen??
ReplyDeleteStephanie - You silly girl. Just hang in there, you will have your own gorgeous homestead kitchen. I know you will.
Erin - Now all I have to do is entice someone to come into my kitchen, sit down and peruse a book and then cook for me! ;o]
Lisa - Thank you so much!
