After taking its own sweet time in arriving, summer finally made it. Right now at 2 p.m., the temperature in the shade is 77 degrees. On the south side of the house in the bright sun, we have 88. Best of all, we've got a lovely breeze so even though we aren't used to such weather yet this year, we're staying comfortable while working outside.
Still work to be done in the raspberries and blueberries. (WHERE are all these weeds coming from?) Papa Pea is working on getting the chicks installed in their little temporary house complete with chicken tractor. They've been eating everything in sight and just got too big for their brooder in the garage. Besides creating chicken dust and a rather unpleasant chicken smell in there.
Gotta get back outside and take advantage of this beautiful day. Now let's hope the summer time temperatures stay with us for a while. Like into September!

Hooray! It's warmer there than it is here LOL, we have 83 in the sun, just about perfect!
It is overcast here but has gotten up to 58! I sooo want some sun and a bit of warmth ... it will probably hit with a vengeance to temps we haven't seen in 10 years, but I'll take it! I'm tired of being in winter clothes and wool socks!
Have a good weekend.
Yvette
We live north of mtnchild just enough to be getting warmer. Sun is still out here and its 70 but the clouds are piling up and thunderstorms are predicted for the next couple of days.
It was 95 degrees before 11 o'clock. It's now just starting to cool off.....97.2 at 4:40 pm.
UGH!
We went from spring to Summer in like two weeks.
Sounds great to me! It was up near 90F here in southern Ohio so we spent the day inside!
Sorry I didn't mean to send that much heat----ha,ha,ha---BUT STILL A LOT LEFT HERE -SITTING IN THE KIDDIE POOL WITH KATELYNN [ WISH I HAD A CAMERA] YOU WOULD LITERALLY DIE LAUGHING
WhooHooo! So glad:) We have sun today, but after those horrible storms moved through, we have been chilly. I think we made it to 75 today, but didn't feel it. Last night was down to 41. Enjoy the warmth!
Wahoo, Summer! Please stay a while, we really like you! Glad you had a good day, Mama Pea.
I am glad a summer has arrived for you. Lets hope its not just a drive by.
Erin - We're warmer than you??! What is this world coming to?
Yvette - Boy, you just cannot warm up to summer weather for anything, can you? Hang in there, Friend. It WILL happen.
2 Tramps - Still way too many bad thunderstorms (and wind destruction) going on in a lot of parts of the country. Stay safe!
Carolyn Renee - Okay, you've got way too high of temperatures. Hope you have air conditioning to sleep in!
Jen - Well, you know when you get up here, you won't be seeing 90 too often!
judy - In the kiddie pool sounds like a very good idea!
Stephanie - Those 30-35 degree differences from day to night are kinda hard to take! Hope your bad storms are done for a while.
Patty - Isn't it wonderful to think we may actually have a summer this year?
Jane - We natives know enough to realize this could be just a very fickle teaser of a taste! But I'll take at least a couple/few more days of it, please.
Hurray! Having a breeze sure helps you adjust to the sudden summer, doesn't it? We have had two days of perfect weather and it is just glorious.
Yeah! I am sure you very much enjoyed the heat wave and got lots done. Feels great for sure! First sunburn too?
OMG-You will not believe what I found hiding in my yard in plain sight----RUBARB --IF IT HAD BEEN ANY CLOSER ,IT WOULD HAVE SMACKED ME IN THE FACE.---there coming to take me away ha-ha to the funny farm--after all this time I was salivating over you"RUBARB "RECIPES
Susan - I guess what they say is true . . . we can't appreciate the good weather without having the bad. :o}
APG - Fortunately neither Papa Pea nor I have the type of skin that burns easily. We are lucky in that we turn brown more than burn. (Famous last words??)
judy - Well, there you go. Get cookin' with that rhubarb!
