Valentine Cookies Ready

I got my heart-shaped sugar cookies out of the freezer today, made the frosting, and got them ready to go.

Fiddling with a complicated quilt block doesn't bother me a bit, but frosting and decorating cookies is something I don't have much patience for.

My decorating capabilities are pretty basic.

All packaged up and ready to go.

(And, no, I didn't sample even one. Gosh, I hope they're not AWFUL!)

Lorie - Thanks, Lorie. It is a good sugar cookie recipe, I think.

  6. That is funny that you dont worry about a quilt project that lasts forever, but a cookie that last 2.3 seconds you worry about its frosting. I guess that shows what a master quilter you are.

  7. Ruth - Still time to get those Valentine goodies baked!

Yvette - I feel the same way as you . . . I wanted some! But when you can get into a size smaller jeans, that serves to keep you going on staying away from the sweets!

Jane - Master quilter I'm not so sure about. But it does show how quirky our tolerances, likes and dislikes can be! No rhyme or reason.

  10. You are amazing! I can't even dream of fitting baking into things right now, I wish I could send the boys (all 3 LOL) to go eat some cookies at your house so they'll get out of my hair! I can't let them see this post or they'll be asking me to make cookies :) They are beautiful and delish looking!

  11. Erin - I have an idea. Let's send your three boys and my one out on a LOOOONNNG snowshoe in the woods armed with cookies and thermoses of hot chocolate. Then you can quilt and I can, too!

  13. LOL - I have problems frosting cookies / cakes too!

  14. Erin - I think if we could get them all out together, there would be no chance of them returning home in less than 3 or 4 hours! ('Course, by then they would be ravenous and demanding FOOD!)

Jen - And I'm sure that's the part that most people really enjoy! What's wrong with us?

  17. Cookies! And yummy looking ones at that. I am not even gonna look at the post. I'm not gonna read this post. I'm especially not gonna look at those cookie pictures!

  18. Rain - I rarely make a cake, 99% of my cookies aren't frosted and my most frequently made dessert is a pie so you can see I'm not really into decorating. Not good at it, so I don't do it!

Jane2 - Gotta admit I almost caved and ate one of the sugar cookies I still have yesterday. But I stayed strong and avoided eating just that first one. We all know what happens then!!

Leigh - Absolutely no calories involved in reading or looking at this post. :o) You can even lick your screen and you won't gain an ounce!
