I had said I was going to try to catch up on some sleep this weekend, but I think I'm going overboard.
I slept almost twelve hours last night, but still found myself walking around in a fog all morning. Did some errands out and about, but when I got home I wondered if it had been wise to be behind the wheel of a large vehicle. Dear husband suggested I listen to my body and take it easy for the rest of the day.
We had an easy lunch of soup and then I thought I'd spend a couple hours in my quilt studio sitting at the sewing machine. Well, that lasted for a very short time. My whole body just felt tired. And when I'm too tired to quilt, I'm in bad shape.
Okay, I grabbed a quilt and decided to lie down on the bed, relax and read. Can you guess how long that lasted? Next thing I knew, I woke because I had my arm in a funny position, and it was tingly and numb. Looked at the clock. Five-thirty. FIVE-THIRTY! Guess I took a little nap. After having had twelve hours of sleep last night.
Glad to report I feel much better now after dinner. (I might last until a nine o'clock bedtime.)
Here's a little picture of spring time. I picked up this shamrock (oxalis) plant this week when we made a trip to the big city. I used to have two huge plants, one white and one pink, but haven't had one of the pretty little things in years. I have it in a south window (they like bright light) and turn it a couple of times each day as the vibrant leaves and flowers seem to strain toward the warmth of the sun coming in through the window. I think we all feel a little bit that way this time of year . . . we yearn to feel the sun! (And get enough sleep.)

Sounds like your body's sending a strong message Mama Pea....good thing you decided to heed it!
Too tired to quilt - a sorry state indeed! Good thing you were able to take the time off your body so obviously needed :)
Hi, Ruthie - Yup, I was kinda sensible for once. Usually I just push on thinking that keeping moving will take away the lethargy. Got a good eight hours sleep last night and feel purdy darn good this morning.
Hey, Jen - When I didn't want to quilt yesterday, both husband and I were worried! And, yes, I'm in a place in life where I am able to take the time off when I truly need it. (That's a hard thing to get used to though!)
Sleep is good. Very good.
Hi, Claire - And I'll bet YOU are someone who could do with a whole lot of extra sleep right now! You may have to talk that handsome husband of yours into giving you a present . . . a weekend of sleeping as much as you want!
sleep is what I need right now... I stayed up until the end of the Oscars last night, and then woke up at 3:50 am and couldn't get back to sleep, now I'm not feeling so hot!
Erin - Do you know I didn't even start to watch the Oscars this year. I think it had something to do with the fact that I hadn't seen even one of the movies that was nominated or that any of the nominees had been in. We have two movie videos sitting here that we've had for a couple of weeks that friends loaned to us as recommendations to see . . . and we just never seem to choose to spend our time plopped in front of the TV screen. Hmmm, gotta analyze that.
