Morning, Ladies - Although we do have a couple of bantam hens that lay eggs smaller than the regular sized hens do, this peewee egg was much smaller than a bantam's. We get one like this once in a blue moon but I don't think it would have much of a chance of ever developing a chick. Usually, if you crack it open, it doesn't have a correctly developed yolk and white.
Fiona, if she is saving up for an extra large egg today, I'll bet she'll decide after laying the whopper (ouch) that wasn't a very good plan! ;o)
Hi, Jody and Ruthie - The little egg was so petite I was trying to think of a way I could have "preserved" it. I guess I could have tried to blow out the innards and keep the shell. Shoulda done that!
