No rain since. Or snow although for the past couple of days we've had gray weather and lazy snowflakes falling (but not piling up) intermittently.

Susan - Lack of much soil (lots of rocks though) is a problem as it is by you. Almost any good wind or heavy rain causes many trees to topple over. Guess the roots have trouble penetrating bedrock!

Lisa - And I do not like ice! Fortunately, that didn't happen here this time but I did comment to my husband as we looked out on what looked like lakes all around our yard that I sure hoped it didn't freeze that way for the winter. That would have been bad!

Granny Sue - Snow already in WV?? What's happening with our weather? The past few years there has been more inches of snow in the southern part of our state (Minnesota) than up here in the very north where we are.Mama Peahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03649357184167949247noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1423140573667417407.post-50224450674463464872021-11-15T16:15:31.608-06:002021-11-15T16:15:31.608-06:00What a lot of rain. The best thing that could have happened before freeze-up.

wyomingheart - We did have a bit of wind (not awful/terrible) which is what caused so many trees to topple over . . . the moist, moist ground and then wind that hit them just the wrong way. Our heavy asparagus ferns in the patch finally got bent over which my husband likes because when they grow to their max, it blocks his view of the driveway from his desk!

Katie C. - Yep, we thought about how many inches of snow all that rain would have been. A lot more effort would have been put into clearing that kind of a snow amount than removing the one tree that blocked our driveway!Mama Peahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03649357184167949247noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1423140573667417407.post-82489320580758812982021-11-14T06:13:02.651-06:002021-11-14T06:13:02.651-06:00Wasn’t that storm a doozy?! As I've mentioned before, our land rises quite quickly behind us and we had what looked like small waterfalls coming down it. And, darn, of course some erosion, too. Also, because of the drought I'm afraid the ground was so hard that I wonder how much of the rain actually soaked in rather than just running over the top.

Leigh - We have a very light covering of snow this morning but the temp didn't get down into the 20s as predicted. All in all, we're very grateful for any precipitation we've now gotten.Mama Peahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03649357184167949247noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1423140573667417407.post-45715948622581586572021-11-13T04:52:45.515-06:002021-11-13T04:52:45.515-06:00That's a welcome sight!
