Finally trying to get a bit caught up on my blogging. 'Tis a struggle just now, and I know most of you can understand why there simply aren't enough hours in the day this time of year.
Anywho.
Here are some pictures from our trail camera. The first of the deer was captured on April 26th when there was still plenty of snow 'round about.
We thought this looked a bit
like a twelve-legged deer.
And then, look at these pics taken on May 6th at 6:17 a.m.! It's not often we see one of these big creatures on our property.
Is he/she looking to cross the driveway safely?
"Yup, all clear."
Off he/she goes.
This moose seemed small and wasn't looking the best after the long winter. Perhaps a young'un from last year?

What a treat to have them in your 'back yard'. We have deer but most are small & definitely no Moose.
Even a small moose is some size!
Very exciting to see a moose! They are huge creatures. We certainly don't have them here (plenty of deer), but we saw lots of moose when we drove "out East" in the Maritime provinces. -Jenn
You have the best trail cam pics! We have been low on wildlife this year. We have a lot of rabbits and a skunk, but no sign of the fox or raccoons. No signs of the Fisher all last year but at least they cleared out the heavy squirrel population. I hadn't even seen a sign of deer in weeks, but last evening I saw SEVEN in the field at dusk.
Amazing pictures! I think this is 'baby moose' time, isn't it? I was reading about how aggressive they can be when they are calving and have babies. I have been busy, too. It's that time of year, isn't it?! Have a blessed Sunday- xo Diana
Rosalea - Yep, dirty hands! I spent my first full day in the garden yesterday. Cool but beautiful weather and no bugs yet. Not much planted yet but things are shaping up!
DFW - We are keeping our eyes wide open hoping to see this moose again but I'm guessing he/she was just passing through. Still a thrill to have captured the pics on the trail camera.
gz - You've got that right! :o)
Jenn - Some people call them "ugly" but I think they are quite the majestic creatures.
SmartAlex - I think those seven deer have been grazing in our small pasture each night when they haven't been at your place!
NanaDiana - I've always heard moose can be cranky most of the time and that's why one should always be very cautious any time around them. I remember years ago we had a new conservation officer come to our area and he was treed by a moose twice in his first week! Wonder if he rethought the new assignment he'd just taken? ;o)
That is huge! We saw a muntjac tonight on the footpath, different end of the scale!
Very thin for sure, atleast there's green out there!
Great pics of the moose! That's (fortunately) a critter we don't have to tend with down here.
I know what you mean about blogging. There's just too much else to do this time of year. But I'm very glad you pop in when you can to give us a post!
Kev - I had to look up what a muntjac was. Yes, a different end of the scale!
Nancy - I think all the critters we've seen are happy for the end of winter and much more good food for them to find and enjoy!
Leigh - I've done a terrible job of keeping up with reading blogs, too. Hope I can change that soon. :o)
