We woke to a little bit of snow cover this morning. About 6" of a little bit.
The weather report says to expect three more inches today.
(Time for me to stop grousing to my husband
about not putting away his myriad of snow shovels.)
This weather is probably why not a lot of people live in northern Minnesota. (Ya think?)

At the start of winter that's pretty. By now it must be getting tedious. Hope your firewood supply is holding out.
Tigger - Fortunately(!), we do have plenty of wood, but I did comment to my husband just yesterday that this weather is NOT helping our supply! He was out and about last week doing some errands and when he came home he commented that he saw a well-known firewood supplier in our area going down the road with a truck filled with wood. I commented that I bet some folks ran out of wood (or were close to it) and decided with this weather that they had better order some more.
Take comfort MP. Winter is still giving repeat appearances at my mountain cabin. No snow in my little post office and one restaurant/ gas station town. But aplenty in other neighboring
areas.
Wood stove still getting use and rain is becoming almost a daily event. I do believe the pages on the calendar got switched.
I could assure you that this too will pass. But i have a rainless day today. Time to get back to the building of the new raised bed while I can.

That's a good amount of snow. We had beautiful weather Friday, but then rain and very cold on Sunday. Today it is to snow here. I'm so ready for spring right now.
Goatldi - Even though it's hampering your outside spring time activities, I'm betting the moisture brought with the rain is welcomed. That will everything as you go into your dry, hot summer months. Before moving here from Illinois, we were camping in the area while looking for property. One morning on August 7th we had ice an inch thick on our water bucket. It can happen anytime of year, it seems, and this continuation of spring snows is not unusual. Better than the drought of last year!
Kristina - Up, down and up again. Good ol' spring time! All we all can do is wait Mother Nature out. Hope you don't get as much snow as we have. Spring will come!
And here I am complaining that there is still ice and snow in sheltered, N facing places! There is rain and snow in our forecast, but nothing serious. (I hope!) It does wear a little thin at this time of year.
Rosalea - We've continued to have snow falling on and off all day. Call me crazy, but I'm not getting upset by it. Yes, I'm eager to get on with some exciting spring/summer projects but I have plenty to keep me occupied until Mother Nature decides to hang up her icicles and snowflakes! It will happen. :o)
Reminds me of the joke the locals told when we lived outside of Perham: "Nine months of winter and three months of bad sledding." Better that than becoming Palm Beach, IMHO!
Michelle - Yep, I know what you mean. Or I've heard, "We have only three seasons. Getting ready for winter, winter, and getting ready for winter." :o\ As I'm sure you know from your time in our great state of Minnie-soda, there has been recorded snowfall in every single month of the year!
Yikes. And here I am, just praying that it doesn't get too hot too soon. I agree it's preferable to drought!
We got about two inches and was sort of expecting there to be more this morning. I think two inches will be hard enough on the blooming daffodils. I'm afraid to go look.
Leigh - And another six inches predicted for us on Wednesday. Hard to believe we live in the same country, isn't it? But when you consider each state in our country is much the same size as whole European countries, perhaps that makes our extreme difference in weather more understandable!
SmartAlex - No matter where we live, we seem to always battle spring weather as far as the earliest plants go. They really have to be tough (as we do!) to survive in unpredictable (and unusual!) spring weather. :o)
The weather certainly has yo-yo-ed this year. We keep getting teaser mini hot spells and then the temperature drops. Currently we are having several nights of 30 something degrees and it hit 80 several days ago!
Supposedly, the last freeze date around here is Mother’s Day. We will have to see. Seedlings are popping along in the basement and I bought a few single plants at Lowe’s the other day. My rosemary bit the dust this winter due to the cold. The oregano survived and is growing which is fortunate because my supply is getting a little low.
I am curious. Is wood your only heat source in the house? We have a pellet stove but that’s just for coziness in the family room and it does help keep our gas bill lower. The cats sure appreciated it last night 🙄
What a bummer, this late in the year. We've had flurries here, and other parts of the state of WV for several inches. But bless you two for soldiering on. Take care of yourselves.
Granny Sue - We have sunshine today and it's lovely. But only 40°. But that's enough for melting to be going on. And you, watch out for those flurries. They can mount up to several inches! ;o)
Looks like the storm we had here three or four days in a row kept waking up to snow and then 75° the week before that crazy!
Sorry Mama Pea! I know it gets weary this time of year to be dealing with the lingering winter! I am sending lots of sunshine your way, and praying the coffee and tea hold out for a few more days for you! Blessings!
SmartAlex - I saw your video of you tromping through your garden in the snow yesterday! Did the daffodils make it? Fingers crossed!
Katie C. - Although seldom used, we do have an L.P. gas wall furnace between the kitchen and bedroom and also a medium-sized L.P. gas furnace in the basement. Just in case as a back-up source of heat. Never hurts to have an alternative. :o)
Nancy - The warmest we've seen so far this spring is somewhere in the low to mid-40s. During these last snows it's been hovering right near the 32° mark so you know the snow is wet and heavy!
wyomingheart - We'll welcome that sunshine, that's for sure! Since I've never HAD to have coffee in the morning, it would be no great tragedy for me if we did run out of coffee. Papa Pea on the other hand . . . well, come to think of it that actually would make real problems for ME as he neeeeeds his java! ;o)
