"Oh, good!" was her reply. "I've got a recipe I've been wanting to try for a long time so that will be perfect."
Although the name of this pastry is technically Profiteroles with Creme Patissiere, otherwise known as cream puffs, they filled my request to a "T" yesterday.
See if you can keep from licking your screen.
Going, going . . .
All gone!
I was unselfish (it was hard) and shared with Papa Pea and the creator of these wonderful bits of lusciousness.
They were delightful little nuggets just the right size to pop into one's mouth, sit back and . . . swoon. Not overly sweet in any way, but just right. I may have eaten ten one or two more than I should have. (Piggy, piggy, oink-oink. No excuse, I just couldn't stop.)
The best news? There are at least half of the "puffs" left to be filled and enjoyed today.

That is one ambitious try!! I can't even imagine trying to make my own, but it looks like she was incredibly successful. Lucky mom! -Jenn
Yum!
Jenn - She's a good cooker and dessert maker and will tackle recipes that are much too "putzy" for me. If it requires more than a wooden spoon and one bowl, I tend to steer away from it!!
Granny Sue - Yes, they were/are!
Temptress! I'm safe though since there's no way I could make them. Lucky you. :)
Ohhhhhhh.....
PURRRRRRRFECTION!!!!!!!!
And not a single potato chip missed!!!!

Meaning.... I know that another one of your *sinful* delights, is potato chips.

tpals - No way *I* could/would make them either!
wisps of words - Who says I haven't been missing potato chips?? (Just give me a bag and no one will get hurt.) The downside of her making these for me is that the person in the house with the honest-to-gosh sweet tooth (not mentioning him by name, of course) could not stop eating them. And said something early on this morning about wondering when the remainder of the puffs would be filled and ready to go. ;o)
Laurie - Maybe since we all can be outside more now (and get good exercise) we can afford the calories within? They are delicious, but I won't be requesting she make another batch of them any time soon as I'm sure I'd quickly get a little funny if I tried to exist on them alone! And one might be tempted to do so. Just sayin'. ;o]
I adore chocolate eclairs and those look absolutely perfect! What a treat!
They look so yummy!! What a nice gift, made from the heart!! Does look like you really enjoyed them. She must take after her mom in the cooking dept. You taught her well!! Glad you had a great Mother's Day!! xo
Leigh - Wish I could share them with you!
linnellnickerson - She's actually a much more adventuresome and "fancier" cook than I'll ever be. And it's always fun to see what she comes up with. Yummy, also!
Sounds like you were as happy with your special Mothers Day gift as I was. π
Oh Mama Pea... Happy Mother's Day to you !! Looks like life is chugging right along. My old friend down in Madison said they had snow yesterday !! We had a frost warning here too, but it was just cold. Cool days too-- bring on the sunshine and warm weather !!
Michelle - Don't the holidays have a "different" feel to them these past couple of months? Well, let's face it, our lives (obviously) don't feel normal. :o\ (What was your Mother's Day gift? Did I totally miss that??)
Akannie - Happy Belated Mother's Day wishes to you, too! Several months ago I was predicting an early, warm spring this year. Guess I've been proven wrong big time! :o(
Yum! Could you post the recipe? I want some now too. I keep baking and sharing with my neighbors. The only place I could find flour was Costco. 25 pounds of King Arthur flour! I had to order containers to store it.
Ah ha! Someone else that shares my potato chip addiction. I once bought those lunch size bags thinking it would work. I ate them all in one day π so, we’ll just keep that one between us.
Katie C. - I don't have the recipe (why should I when my dear daughter gladly makes them?), but I'll ask her about it.
Not a bag idea to have the 25 lbs. of flour in your pantry!
You gave me a chuckle thinking about you tearing open all those little lunch size bags of chips and gobbling them down. I know I could easily eat a whole BIG bag at one sitting, so I cannot keep them in the house . . . or that would happen! (Oh, we are soooo bad!)
so yummy
Eclairs are my favorite summer time treat. They aren't hard to make and Oh, so yummy for my tummy.
Those are one of my husbands and my favorite desserts too! She's quite the chef!!!
Endah Mumiyati - They were yummy!
Cockeyed Jo - My daughter also says they aren't hard to make. Maybe not for her and you, but I'm not tackling it any time soon. I'll eat some made by either of you though. ;o)
Nancy - Yes, she is!
Mama Pea,
I finally Found you! I saw your comment over at "5 Acres and a dream" and just had to see if I could get in contact with you again. I sent you an E-mail and hope you will respond. Until (IF) you get back to me, I hope to talk to you then!

You have _never_ shown a recognizable photo of YOU!!!!!!
That old one, with your daughter as a baby... Nope. The one, of you, behind a cup of something... Nope.
