You and I are both making lemonade from the lemons! You're doing garden work in your lovely weather and I'm getting in more (hibernation) quilting time! :o)
Oh wow that is still lots of snow! Our snow is gone and it's going to be sunny all weeks so if feels like spring here. I may go out and do a bit of raking to get the grass looking good. At least it's something I can do without interacting with other people.
linnellnickerson - Spring never comes easily to us here in the Northland and we frequently get measurable snows in the month of March so this isn't abnormal. And we haven't had any really warm, spring-like feeling weather yet so we're not too disappointed in the scene out our windows today. We'll just through another log on the stove! :o)
Sparkless - The forecasters tell us we may get a sunny day tomorrow . . . and then more snow the rest of the week. Do a little raking and making your grass look good for me!
LN and I with Miss A's 3 yr old help cleaned the garden up today . I am ready for tilling and maybe snap pea planting this week. How different the country is with climate zones and weather. Of course we will be frying in June and July while you are getting started.
Lisa B - Yep, that's the way it goes in our country with all the different climates. In your area, you have to get all your cool weather crops in asap so that they mature and are done before they get fried (as you say) in mid-summer. We all know how to garden to provide food for our families, but wouldn't we suffer a huge learning curve if we were suddenly one year transplanted to another state and zone?? Wow, that could drive a person nuts trying to get it right for the first couple of years!
Susan - The good ol' month of March consistently reminds us that it is NOT a spring month by us! At least we didn't get the freezing rain/snow mix that was forecast for today. See? Some good things are going on!
Praying for family and friends and especially for those less fortunate than me. Plenty to do in the house. Limiting tv and computer viewing. Focusing on what's in front of me at the moment...and cherishing it; whether its scrubbing the sink or cross stitching. Enjoying the "normal". Stay safe everyone.
A big thanks to Dr James for reserving my ALS disease with his effective herbal formula. I was diagnosed of ALS disease 5 months ago of all the horrible experience, I was bitterly in pains. My symptoms progressed so fast that I couldn't eat proper, walk, work, breath well, it was my worse part of life then. On this fateful day, I came across a post just like this concerning a patient who used Dr James herbal medicine herbal formula to reserve her ALS disease for over 4 years now. I was skeptical about it but I had no choice than to also contact this dr James I visited his blog site and made my orders. To cut it short, I used the herbal formula for six weeks as instructed and today makes it 7 months without no symptoms. I am also making my testimony about this miraculous did. I have been given 3 years ALS disease reserved guarantee after which i will make another purchase for another 3 years span again. Thank you very much dr James. For those who needs help, you can reach him via email on jamesherbalformula@gmail.com or WhatsApp number: +2348102574680 . Let's share this and help everyone. Don't judge until you give it a try
I live with my husband on a small homestead in Northern Minnesota. Our daughter currently lives in a small cabin in the woods not too far from us.
Our place is located outside a small town and a two and a half hour's drive from the nearest big city. Trips to the city are infrequent, well-planned, and exhausting!
We currently raise chickens and have hives of honey bees. Raising some of our meat and most of our fruits and vegetables is a priority for us; so, along with our birds for meat and eggs, we have fruit trees, berry patches and a huge vegetable garden.
Quilting is my passion, and I could happily spend each day in my quilt studio if I weren't happily spending each day out in the garden. Good thing we have winters up here; Mother Nature helps keep my life balanced.
My Occupation(s)
Home and Household Manager (Highly-Skilled Domestic Engineer)
Wife of Retired School Teacher (I Really Enjoy Having Him Home)
Mother of Grown Child (I Am So Proud of Her)
Fanatic Gardener (So Many Seeds, So Little Summer)
Passionate Quilter (I Am Obsessed)
EX-Restaurant Owner (Thank Heavens!)

Now I don't feel as bad as I did when I awoke to two inches of snow yesterday morning. A mere snowdrop in the bucket, compared to you!
