I've shown you this one before but it still makes me smile every time I see it. It usually goes up when I take the "Christmas-y" one down. Then when spring seems as though it really is going to appear in the north woods, this one comes down and I put up something "spring-y." Except I didn't really have anything that appropriately heralds the spring season.
But now I do!
I recently finished this small quilted wall hanging, and lo and behold, it's done before I actually need it. (We had a temp of 14 degrees this morning so unlike some of you with beautiful spring flowers dotting your landscape, there's no evidence spring has arrived here yet.)
The label I gave it is "Spring Piggies."
Here's a closer view of the
happy little piggies.
The pigs came from a panel I bought a month or so ago showing different farm animals. Along with the pigs are horses, chickens, goats, and sheep. It took me forever to choose which grouping of animals I was going to use for this wall hanging. I finally cut out the pigs and started winging it from there.
I wasn't sure how it would end up or if I'd be happy with it. Turns out, I do like it a lot, and now want to make something using some of the other animals. Where will I use them? Probably in my pantry. I already have a few small pieces on the walls in there for decoration and color, but I'll bet I can squeeze in a couple more.

The Snow Shoe one is cute.
And your next one is too.
But don't you need one, for "Mud Season"?
We are in another snow storm. -sigh- Enough!!! But Mother Nature is not listening.
Hugsssssss....
wisps of words - OH! You are absolutely right! I never thought of doing one for Mud Season (which can sometimes last a long time!). What would I do? Let's see . . . how 'bout one imitating Jackson Pollock using real mud?? ;o)
Love these all! With the last snow storm we had on Monday I'd be having to leave the snowshoe one up.
MrsDM - Although we haven't had the recent snow storms you have, you can bet the "snowshoe" sign is still up here yet!
OMG, I love that fabric! Those pigs! I think you could definitely use that right through mud season. I’m actually wishing for mud season, as o sit here watching yet another storm dump inches of snow on us. :(
It's never too early for a Spring wall-hanging. The middle pig at the bottom is laughing with us in anticipation of some sloppy weather!
Love the pigs, but you might be really tempting the fates with taking the snowshoe sign down. De took our winter decorations down this weekend after a 50F Saturday and now we have below freezing weather and wisps of snow for at least the next week.
How might that go? "If the piggies see their shadow...." Hmmm.
Mama Pea,
I think if you hang this picture up now, spring will be knocking at your door sooner than later😀 Each scene will look amazing as pictures hanging near your pantry.
Hugs,
Sandy
Susan - Thought of you today when I heard of another storm in the northeast. How much are you getting?
Phil - Yep, it was that laughing pig that made me choose the pigs as the main focal point of this hanging!
Mark - Nope, I'm not taking any chances by taking the snowshoe sign down yet! We had a low of 14 degrees this morning so I think we're having the same kind of week you are. Brrrrr.
Sandy - If only that suggestion would work! If I do go ahead and make some small hangings for the pantry, I'll post them just for you!
Pigs love them. They certainly could double for mud season I think. Good job and looking forward to seeing where the rest end up!
Goatldi - Yep, if any animal would qualify for Mud Season, I guess it would be piggies! More cold weather this morning so it may be a while yet before the pig wall hanging gets put up.
I love those spring piggies! And the other animals, it's so cozy! I do love that snowshoe sign too. I have to get some stuff like that in the future. Right now I don't decorate the outside of the house too much because it's so temporary here, but I have lots of ideas for the future! :)
