Ugh, I think I may be getting moldy. (In both mind and body. Now there's an ishy thought.) We've been in another stretch of very damp, humid weather and nothing of what's left in the garden seems to ever dry out. The slugs are happy as . . . well, as happy as slugs can be, and it's a race to see if I can harvest what's left to harvest before everything shows signs of slug nibbling.
Besides the downside of the clingy, wet weather, I think I'm probably suffering from end-of-a-busy season tiredness. Not sleeping well at night which doesn't help at all. Grump, grump, grump.
Autumn is my favorite season and usually invigorates me in the same way spring does for many people. I might have to buy a bottle of Geritol (do they even make that stuff any more?) to get me revved up again.
The wet weather has given me some time inside, and I've actually been doing a little quilting (more on that next post) and sorting in my quilt room. Which brings me to the giveaway part of this post.
I have three soft-covered (8-1/2" x 11") quilting books I'm offering to anyone who may be interested.
They are 9 Patch Reunion, Quilts from Squier Lane and Miss Rosie's Autumn Quilts. All are listed on Amazon if you would like more information on them.
They go as a trio, all three books to the one name drawn. Anyone interested? (Because of economic reasons, entries are limited to the contiguous United States.) If you'd like your name thrown in the hat, let me know in the comments section of this post. Entries will be closed at 9 p.m. on Tuesday night, September 19th, and I'll draw a name and post the winner on Wednesday, the 20th. It's time to start thinking of new projects to do this winter when the snow is falling, the wind is blowing and we've all got more time for some new projects.

I would absolutely love the books!! What a nice offer!
Hi, Susan of Susan's Blog - Your name is entered for the drawing!
Hi Mama Pea :) I laughed so hard at your Geritol joke...I remember those commercials!!! I think I made a joke about that once to Alex and it went right over his head...he's a wee bit younger than me lol...I won't comment on your wonderful humidity...don't want to make you even grumpier, hee hee! :)
We've had slugs ALL SUMMER...I guess it was from all the rain we had?
Do I fall into the category of contiguous? :) If so, please enter me too! One of my "to do" projects is to learn how to quilt!
PS: Love your new header and photo!
Please.
Rain - Yep, slugs do love wet conditions, for sure. I just about totally freak out when I wrap my hand around a cucumber to pick it and find a slimy slug in my palm!!
When you learn how to quilt, you will no doubt excel at that as you do any other craft!
Thank you re the new header photo. All the credit goes to Chicken Mama . . . and she said Gilligan had an input, too!
Regine Karpel - Thanks for commenting and entering your name for the drawing!
I would absolutely love the books!!

We are not getting the rain, but the heat. I haven't had the energy to get all my garlic in the ground, nor pull plants, nor this or that, ha ha!
This is wonderful of you. I am just starting our retirement challenge. I am getting rid of stuff, but also obtaining other items that I plan on working on once I can finally retire. Just one more year to go! then the sell our house and buy our 'final' home. Just love your blog, I also live in MN and it is nice to see the amazing gardens you can have further up north. Thank you for your blog, it is very interesting.
koi seo - Entered.
Kristina - My garlic won't go in until sometime next month. I sure know what you mean about not having much oompf this time of year. Usually I'm energized in the fall, but find myself a little pep-less this year!
Anonymous - Good wishes on your soon to be retirement! I think you'll find your days very full of all the things you have wanted to do, but not had the time! Seems like you should have lots of "spare" time, but we've found it hasn't worked out that way. :o)
Thanks for your nice words re my blog!
We went from 35 degrees celcius last Tuesday to 3 degrees last night. We had some desperately needed rain Friday night into Saturday. We could use more but for now we will take what we get!
I can't wait to see more on your quilting. I wish I could quilt but I think you need to know how to sew and I can't do that so I lust over others quilts. In a totally non-lusty non-weirdo way! :) :)
Its been such a weird year for weather and gardens. I am keeping my fingers crossed that next year will be balanced and better.
Here's hoping you get back to feeling perky!
I'm looking forward to seeing the results of your stolen moments! We've awoken to heavy fog for seven days in a row - followed by hot, very humid weather. I have to keep checking my calendar to make sure we haven't time warped BACK to July. I've officially thrown in the trowel. Slugs have eaten my semi-ripe tomatoes, everything in the garden is confused so it all has collapsed in a heap. Don't enter me, as I am too lame in the quilting department to warrant your generous offer. Love the new header and that action shot of you!
MrsDM - I'm feeling much better with a bit of the ol' energy today . . . although it was a really busy day so maybe I'll be whacked out again tomorrow. :o/ Yes, it would be much easier to learn to quilt if you had a good sewing background. That helps a lot. No reason not to lust :o] over others' quilts though.
Yep, I'm hoping for a more normal gardening year next year, too. Not too pleased with the way things came out this year, that's for sure.
Susan - Yep, getting a lot of slug damage here, too. Grrrr! I won't enter your name in the drawing for the three quilt books but you can't fool me. I've seen how fast you caught on in your first quilting attempt! Remember?
Thanks re the pics. Chicken Mama did the blog header as usual.
