I made two sets using bits of the fabric I had left over from the material I used in making the valances for our entry porch.

I like this fabric so much!
The birds on bare branches in a wintery scene brighten up our old, gray, melting snow, ice and puddles. And yes, navigating out there, whether on foot or in a vehicle, is treacherous at the present time.
Hey, Mother Nature! This is January in northern Minnesota. What's with this 30+ degree melty, rainy weather??

We're nothing but thick slippery ice here. Mid 30's, drizzly, day after day.

good job on the potholders, had more than enough rain for me here in sunny California, last I heard we were at 170%+ of normal, front pastures have flooded again. Dogs were barking at something under the stock trailer today ... out came a big red fox, bet he/she is tired of the rain too.
Tombstone Livestock - Talk about feast or famine when it comes to you getting rain! Is this worse than the past drought? Once the rain stops, you should be dressed in green for quite a while!
I hear you Tombstone Livestock. Here in True Nor Cal we have been swimming since October and it just keeps coming. Mama Pea excellent pot holders you are an inspiration to be sure. I hope you get more agreeable weather soon!
Having been the lucky recipient of your beautiful pot holders, I am very thankful for your obsession! Same crappy weather here. Rain, fog, ice. Rinse, repeat. I'm sure we'll get winter back, but when?!
love the potholders. Where is winter? 16 days of rain some hard some light ,temps in the 60's. Some of my flowers are starting to comes up.

Susan - Sounds as though there aren't many of us being buried under snow at least. Papa Pea was by the big city last Friday and drove through the worst fog he's seen. Not good. Be careful with your fog and ice.
Anonymous Sue - At least we haven't had temps as warm as you. That's not good for plantings . . . not in January, for sure.
Myrna - And the Old Farmer's Almanac predicted a colder and snowier winter. Hard to plan on much, isn't it?

Sandy - You're so sweet to say such nice things about my potholders. But I have rule that whoever receives them, has to actually use them. I'm always willing to replace them with new if they get too grungy looking! ;o}
I love them all! A few years ago, I called a store to see about taking lessons to quilt them for the first time. As you can see, I have not even had the time to do it. Maybe after I am done cleaning and purging? Hm. Then again, we have trees to cut and split...

Kristina - Sometimes I get very frustrated with myself thinking I don't give enough time to any of the things I like to do. (We won't even talk about the "must dos" that need to be done every day.) Maybe if I just concentrated on quilting? Or knitting? Or making rugs? And then there's always . . . well, I know you can relate.
Erin - Yep, I can relate to that, too. My current quilting project is making three coordinated winter-ish table runners to use on three different cabinet/storage unit tops in the house. 'Cept, my choice of pattern is so putzy it may take me three or four years to finish them!
