Tucker is our daughter's dog, and we gladly provide doggy daycare for him when needed.
I don't think I've ever known a happier, more content, easy-going dog.
Look, he even smiles in his sleep.
The only time he's the least bit bothersome is at meal time, and even then his "bothering" consists of a happy dance around the feet of whomever he thinks is going to feed him.
No matter the time of year (even when his belly drags in the snow), he's always willing to go for a walk to get the mail or take a position on the front deck or back porch supervising whatever activity is going on.
For a smaller dog, he's got a big bark which would be a good thing, but he only uses it to say hello when someone he knows comes to the house. We've tried to teach him to alert us to strangers and/or roaming wild animals, but haven't been successful.
He's definitely a lover, not a fighter. And that's just fine.
Good boy, Tucker, good boy!

OMG, he's adorable! Corgi X?
Just the other day it occurred to me you hadn't written about your granddog in a while. He's smiling because he's got three humans well trained to attend his every need. :-)
Cute little fellow. I much prefer happy dogs. -Jenn
He's smiling because he knows he's safe, warm, well-fed, and much-loved.
Theresa - Tucker's a Cardigan Welsh Corgi. I'm certainly not an expert on Corgis, but basically the Cardigans have a tail and are built a bit stockier than the Pembroke Welsh Corgis (like the ones Queen Elizabeth has) who have the docked tails and are more "delicate" looking. I (lovingly) say Tucker has the body of a German sausage stuffed with cement. He's such a solid little bundle of muscle.
Fairview Farm - Right! (Did I mention he was smart, too?) ;o}
Jenn - Sometimes I think we'd do well to imitate his personality. No cares, no woes, no worries. And he makes sure to get enough rest!
Susan - And your dogs know all about that!! :o} (Hope your weekend is going well, friend!)
I do like a well behaved dog, there is nothing worse than a badly trained one or badly cared for. He has a cute smile :-)
I wish my neighbor's dogs would learn from Tucker. I am so sick to death of all the barking--nonstop---all day long.
Dawn - Even when Tucker was a little pup, he wasn't much trouble as he had a big "sister" (daughter's Golden Retriever, Maisy) that he wouldn't let out of his sight. When Maisy died we worried how it would affect Tucker. He was grown by then and was just fine.
Sue - I couldn't take that. I'm sure when a dog gets into that habit, it's hard to break. BUT your neighbors could keep the dog inside where I'm assuming he wouldn't bark. :o/
What a sweetie! :)
Sandy - He is that!
He is ADORABLE. I cannot imagine life without dogs...I had two pugs back in the day who were with me for 16 years, and 19 years respectively. I went one year without a dog and it was the most miserable time of my life. We now have 3 rescues and I adore them to bits...https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-caAgm8z-vPk/V88Tqs156NI/AAAAAAAAixM/DS2LPm_6ymw9FQSWTXMqS7NeRm4YGdAdwCLcB/s640/Pizza%2BPlease.JPG
Rain - Seems to me animals (of any kind) sure do add a lot of LIFE to a home!
