It's a big 'un measuring 32-1/2" across and 41" top to bottom. Six chocolate bunnies are scattered across it and coordinating fabrics are mostly pastels.
If any of you have an interest in giving this wall hanging a new home, leave a comment on this posting, I'll put names in an Easter bonnet (ha-ha) and draw a winner. Entries for a chance to win need to be submitted by 9 p.m. on Wednesday night, March 9th. I'll do the drawing sometime the next day and post the winner.
Here's comes Peter Cottontail, hopping down the bunny trail . . .

We've had several very welcome days of sunshine lately, and although we can notice the snow levels sinking, the dangerous ice covering all ground surfaces remains. We're supposed to have above freezing temperatures during the day for the next ten days so we're hoping the ice will start to melt. It will be a slow process but all part of spring time in the north woods.
As usual, we've got a boat load of outside projects lined up for this spring/summer/fall season, and we're eager to get started on all of them so an early spring would be nice to have. First on the agenda will be to replenish the firewood supply. It was an easy winter temperature wise, and we're going to end the heating season with our biggest wood shed still full of well-seasoned wood. That means all the less wood to work up and get under cover for the year after next.
Thanks to Sue's kind help and suggestions, I've purchased a five-shelf wire rack (plus lights) that I'll be using for starting my garden seeds this spring. Yep, hubby still has to give up a bit of floor space in his heated workshop, but at least I won't be commandeering the top of his workbench for two months this year. He's happy. I'm happy. Let's hope all those little seedlings will be happy.

What a sweet quilt! Is Papa Pea a teacher?
I can't wait to see your seedlings!
Hope your ice melts this week...do you have to wait for the ground to thaw before planting or is that not a problem? When do you normally get plants in the ground? We shoot for mid April here.
Laurie - Hubby was a teacher until his retirement several years ago. I've been gradually letting go of the seasonal wall hangings I made for his classroom.
I start (inside under lights) my seeds that take the longest to germinate and grow big enough to put outside around the first of April. I have cold frames in the garden that I use to cover the first plants I set out sometime around the middle of May. That's about the time I can plant cold weather seeds directly in the ground, too. Most years it's still chancy to set out tender plants or plant the more heat loving seeds until the first week in June. Yes, we have a very short growing season, but I've learned to manage to grow most of what we need for summer and winter consumption. Right now I still have an abundance (from last summer) of frozen berries and veggies either in the freezer or canned.
Your quilt is so cute! My grand God daughter loves bunnies. I still have an abundance of berries in freezer, need to turn some of them into jelly/jam.
Have a great week!
Sue
Mother Judy,
I think this quilt is positively adorable! Do you suppose it's big enough to wrap an unruly kindergartener in? If so, I'll take 20 :)
Seriously, it's very cute & I'd promise to only use it for decorative purposes only.

Such a cute quilt wall hanging! I love Easter time as it's a sure sign that Spring is coming!
Momma Pea, that quilt is adorable. You do great work. I am getting ready to do some seed planting soon too.
I really enjoyed our mini greenhouse last year, great way to get on a jump with the garden!
I started having a go with grow lights last year and want to get some more and set up a proper indoor growing area, I dont want to run power out the poly tunnels just yet.
Lovely quilt some-one is going to be really lucky to get such a wonderful gift, dont enter me in as I am in the UK, good luck to everyone.
I can't turn down a chance at a quilt! I have two girls who would have to take turns using it on their beds if I won- they would both love it:-). Thanks for being so generous with this giveaway!
Love it - would love to win it for my garden room, Would fit right in. Please!!
love it again - forgot to give contact infor --

I would love your quilt but I live in the uk so I understand why you would exclude me from your give away.
I love seasonal wall hangings! I am working my way through making a pile of them, but I don't have an Easter one yet, so this would be very welcome. Thanks for the thoughtful raffle.
I also forgot to enter some sort of contact information. Dori M. for the March 7th one at 10:25 am.
I was looking at the quilt wishing that I knew how to make one. How exciting to have the opportunity to win it!
Maybe I should have said it would be eggsciting to win!
Mamma Pea, I cannot believe that it has been so long since I have read your (and others) blog but this one must have been secretly calling my name. I have this quilt design on my long list of quilts to make and here I find you are giving one away. I am stunned that I found this in time to enter. The bunnies peeking out of the baskets are so cute. And being a chocoholic means I think they are "delicious" looking but would never eat them. Honest! So put me in the drawing and I will keep my fingers crossed like everyone else.
Sue - Thanks! Sounds like your grand-god-daughter might like the wall hanging. Good luck!
K of the P's - I'll bet if you used really strong safety pins, you could corral at least two of them in the quilt. Or duct tape? Lots of duct tape?
Kathy - And it's even early this year so that means spring will arrive early?? Fingers crossed!
Kim - 'Tis the time when we're all thinking about the coming gardening season!
LHinBoise - Yes, to have a dedicated spot in which to start the seedlings . . . so nice!
Dawn - Wish I could include you, but shipping would be prohibitive. :o( Thanks for your kind words. :o)
I'll Call You Jane - Your name is in the hat!! And you're very welcome. I'd like it to go to someone who would enjoy it now that there's not a classroom wall for it to decorate.
Anonymous - Thanks for remembering to include some contact info!
Chris - Thank you, Chris. Postage these days even in the States is getting ridiculous. I used to enjoy sending cookies, jams, etc. to friends and family, but can't really afford to do so as I used to. :o(
Dori M. - You're welcome and thanks for remembering to include your contact info!
mommar6 - Eggsactly!! :o]
Karen - Your name is in the Easter bonnet! :o]
I just want to tell you how wonderful I think this bunny quilt is. You are going to make someone very happy - unfortunately not me (Finland). I found your blog a couple of Months ago and just love it. Synnöve
The quilt is wonderful. My sister recently became great-grandma to twin girls. I'd love to win it to give to her for precious Lilly & Lucy. I'm in the St. Louis area and my daffodils just popped open and a saucer magnolia has one bloom open. Now I fully expect a snowstorm to ruin them. It happens every few years. I remember 5 years ago when we had an early spring and then lost all the blooms to the snow.
Mama Pea,
You make beautiful quilts, I love this wall hanging you made for your husbands classroom. Please enter me in your give-away.
Setting up shelves with heat lights in your garage is a great start for all your seeds. That reminds me, I need to pullout my greenhouse and get my seed planting going.
Stay warm, enjoy planting seeds.
Hugs,
Sandy
Welcome, Synnove! Thank you for commenting. Wish I could include you good people "across the pond" in the drawing.
Peg - Oh, I love the names of Lilly and Lucy for the twins!
Yes, that's the glitch for you folks who live in "friendlier" climates. The early warm weather can sometimes bring harm to blooms and blossoms. Hope that doesn't happen to you this year.
Sandy - Thank you for your always kind words! I've still got three weeks before I can start any seeds, but with our temp staying above freezing over night, we're seeing a lot of melting. Yayyyy!
Oh you know I have duct tape in my drawer - hot pink to make them happy while they're taped to the wall.
I would welcome that quilt with open arms and open hearts. Rabbits are fascinating animals that do not get enough credit. I'm a natural world enthusiast. And these rabbits give me so much life. They are SO cute!
Oh wow, how can you give this away it's so darling!! I have a first grade teacher I would give it to--I'm sure the kids would love it. JoAnn
Brenda Guardado - Your name is in the drawing!
JoAnn - It's time for it to go where it will be enjoyed (I hope) again. A classroom would be great! Your name is in the hat.
Oh I hope I'm not too late. It's 8:11 pm here. I would love to have this beautuful quilt.
carol pavlik - You definitely beat the 9 p.m. deadline last night!
Who won?
Brenda - Go to my post of Thursday, March 10th, to see the announcement of the winner.
