About Me
I live with my husband on a small homestead in Northern Minnesota. Our daughter currently lives in a small cabin in the woods not too far from us.
Our place is located outside a small town and a two and a half hour's drive from the nearest big city. Trips to the city are infrequent, well-planned, and exhausting!
We currently raise chickens and have hives of honey bees. Raising some of our meat and most of our fruits and vegetables is a priority for us; so, along with our birds for meat and eggs, we have fruit trees, berry patches and a huge vegetable garden.
Quilting is my passion, and I could happily spend each day in my quilt studio if I weren't happily spending each day out in the garden. Good thing we have winters up here; Mother Nature helps keep my life balanced.

Sue - You can say that again. :o(
Oh No. That's a LOT of wood. I know a family from Denmark and they stack their wood "in the round" -- I found a YouTube video showing how it's done.

Ack is right!
Rats! Too bad you can't just put up a safety net or something. I mean, the last thing you two need is double the work!
Rosemary - Isn't that the coolest looking wood stack? We tried that once when we had more wood cut and split than we had room for in a wood shed. Let me tell you, It's a real craft to get it to turn out properly. As with so many things, it's not as easy as it may seem!
Kristina - We knew the top of the last tier was leaning out more than we wanted it to and planned to stack the last tier (right at the front of the shed) leaning back to hold the tippy tier in place. Last night, hubby said he heard something in the middle of the night but he couldn't figure out what it was . . . until this morning when he saw the mess!
Susan - We both managed to stay so busy today that neither of us went near that mess. Wonder how long it will take us to restack it?
