We Have a Give-A-Way!

I know it's not exactly the right time of year to be thinking about spending time with your sewing machine and stash of fabrics, but I have a great quilting book that wants to go to a new home.

The title is Go Wild with Quilts - Again!, written by Margaret Rolfe and put out by That Patchwork Place.

We have birds.

We have wildlife.

We have water creatures.

And much more.

Ugh, please excuse the poor quality of these pictures.  I had to ask hubby to hold the book open for me (so I had only one shot to get each picture) and we're both flyin' kinda low this morning.  This looks like it will be our THIRD day in a row with sunshine so the daily list is full of outside projects involving a paint brush, pruners and possibly tiller!  Wa-HOO!

If you're interested in receiving this nifty 8-1/2" x 11" soft bound book, leave a comment saying so.  Just for fun, also tell us what was the last thing you sewed on your sewing machine.

I'll draw a name as the winner tomorrow night (Thursday) 'round about 9 p.m. and post the winner Friday morning.  Good luck!

Looks like a really neat book. Last sewing adventure was repairing a pillow.

OMG!! I'm squeeing with glee! That one with the chipmunks is freakking adorable!! I gott'a have it.

Wait a second. I hate quilting. And did you see all those teeny-tiny little pieces? What nutjob in their right mind would even HAVE a book like this??!! (Oh, wait a second....sorry Mama Pea)

I'll pass. But thanks for the giveaway anyhow :)

Which reminds me, I never posted MY giveaway. Guess I got a bit riled up with my last post. Today shall be the day of giveaways! Shall I mention yours in my blog?

I am indeed a nutjob and I NEED that chipmunk quilt pattern. I NEED to make it. And don't get me started on the little turtles... Please, please toss my name in the hat.

Donna - Do you garden in the summer? If so, please send details on how you manage to quilt during that time. I would adore you forever if I could figure out how to do it! ;o)

sweetiesuzy - Name's in the hat! My last time spent one on one with my sewing machine was putting a new zipper in a hooded sweatshirt. Darn original zipper pull-thingie mechanism fell off within a week of purchase!

Carolyn - I'm putting your name in the hat so that if you win you'll go absolutely bonkers. (KID-ding!)

I'd love it if you mentioned my give-a-way on your blog.

Susan - But what if you make the darling, cute, adorable chipmunk quilt, hang it on your wall and it does something awful like attract more chipmunks to your property? Sometimes I think we have the chipmunk breeding capital of the world right here on our place. Yeah, they are cute, but they also eat about $1,000 worth of sunflower seeds per chipmunk each year.

I love sunflowers and birds so that's my favorite!

Looks like fun!! I finished a t-shirt for son #3 this week and this week have cut out and begun a shirt for a friend for his birthday. I garden in the morning when hubby is home to help, homeschool in the afternoons when daddy's gone to work, and sew in the evenings! It's all good!!

I would love to win this book. We have some much wildlife in this house that it would feel right at home here. I have already seen two projects calling my name.

Mama Pea said...

Deb - There are other bird patterns in the book, too, that you might be tempted by!

Mama Pea said...

Freedom Acres Farm - I LIKE your schedule! Keep it up!

Mama Pea said...

Michelle - I think there are times when the term "wildlife" can apply to all of us! (But not so much referring to being out and about after 9 p.m. anymore!)

Hey MP, Love the book but since I already have it, don't put my name in the pot. Actually I have several of Rolf books. I especially like bird and animal designs so I was drawn to her books early on and have made several of her patterns from those books. I have a love/hate relationship with paper piecing .... love the exactness of it (is that a real word?) but dislike the tediousness of it. Hope someone who will use it wins it. Good to hear that you are finally headed into spring weather.

The last thing I sewed on my machine was a baby blanket and diaper bag for my new nephew :)

I would love to have this book. The last thing I sewed was to repair a pair of pants of mine.

I found you from Krazo Acres! I love these patterns, how cute. I am currently sewing placemats. It's a beautiful blue/green background with brown bees that look like stamped woodcut images and then there is gold metallic threads and sketchy words across the pattern. I am flanking it with brown and gold checkerboard squares. It's really pretty fabric from Lonni Rossi (Big Beautiful Bugs)
Thank you for the opportunity- Kathy http://movingontothepast.blogspot.com/

Karen L. - Gotta admit paper piecing isn't my fave either. Hope you're having a great spring!

Mama Pea said...

Kim - I think making baby quilts is my favorite quilting project! Never made a diaper bag . . . but I have a pattern for one.

Mama Pea said...

Practical Parsimony - You know, every time I go to the sewing machine to repair something, I wonder what people do who don't know how to sew. (Maybe ask their mother as my daughter does! ;o] )

Mama Pea said...

Kathy Felsted Usher - Hi, Kathy! Welcome and thanks for commenting. Your new placemats sound gorgeous. I'm going over to your blog to see if you show a picture of them.

Is it too late to put my name in the hat too?! I like the birds.... I like the deer.... I even like the chipmunks, even though we praise our cats when they 'gift' us with er, chipmunks. :) Thank you for offering this give-away Mama Pea and hope the sun is shining your way today!

I have just found your blog recently from Mama's Minutia and have been busy reading the old posts. I would love to have that quilting book, it looks awesome. I have not had my sewing machine out since I took a quilting class last year. I have a twin sized quilt pieced together but have not started the actual quilting yet. It seems like such a daunting task when I am always so busy with 2 little ones, gardening, canning and working.

Wow, it looks like a fantastic book. Quilting was my first textile love. Please add me to the list. :)

Mama Pea said...

Lisa - On and off sun today but we're happy it's nice weather for being outside.

You're not too late. I'll cut off the entries about 9 p.m. tonight and post the winner in the morning.

P.S. We don't like chipmunks either! They eat too many sunflowers seeds. Greedy little gluttons.

Mama Pea said...

Chela - Hi, welcome and thanks for commenting!

You have a really full plate so I can understand why you're having trouble finding time to quilt! I once went 7 years without doing any handwork because of other responsibilities. Hang in there, times will change!

Mama Pea said...

Leigh - Any luck getting to your loom this winter? (I'm afraid I can guess the answer to that.) I'm determined to make time for handwork this summer . . . something I rarely do, but think I should for my sanity! We all need more of a BALANCE!
